String pullers, and those going along with it because they think they’ll get something out of it at the cost of the country’s decline.

We’re going to need a wall. A long one.

The 25th was written to be used for incapacity, and an insane but active president can defeat it. If his cabinet members declare him incapable, all he has to do is write a letter saying “Nuh-huh, I’m fine” and that’s the end of it. The amendment wasn’t intended to deal with mental illness. More like “POTUS in a coma.”

If they want him out, they should impeach him.

Taco is such an asshole. And of course the “waste of taxpayer money” was something that provides clean water to humans and passed with overwhelming support.

That this absolute DICKHEAD would try to use that as a cover speaks to just how terrible Republicans are - like good little parrots they were repeating the mantra “waste, fraud and abuse. waste, fraud and abuse” when “doge” was busy doing things to steal data and kill human beings.

They are programmed to believe lies like Taco’s.

I’ve said this for decades and I’ll say it again: no Republican should be allowed into any office.

First the military parades, now this. He thinks he’s giving Napoleon energy when he’s really giving kim family energy, who have their own arch which is :

The structure is modeled after the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, but is 10 metres (33 ft) taller.

So you know this arch de trump will be 10 meters higher than Kim’s.

The parade was a joke and he will never have any arch, don’t stress. He couldn’t even build one wall.

If I was American, I would be more worried about filling the enormous concrete slab a few years from now.

Trump doesn’t seem to understand that the existing presidential monuments were built posthumously and by popular opinion in order to honor exceptional leaders. His desperate attempts to plaster his name on random bullshit is pathetic. I hope once he finally kicks the bucket that we quickly rename these monuments to honor his victims. I wish he could be alive to see it.

Yes, because if you are counting on Democratic politicians to reverse anything - this, Denali, Gulf of Mexico, Kennedy Center, etc - then you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Fossils like Schumer think reversing incredibly unpopular things somehow loses them support from centrists.

Reconciliation and forgiveness can be powerful tools for a country to move on. However, there is there is the improper way and there are more effective ways to for a country to heal.

Truth commissions can be an effective way to for a country to move forward. People have to be held accountable, there has to be fact finding, a plan to move forward, and genuine good faith to particpate.

That I agree with. The US deathly allergic to any introspection. My theory is that “American exceptionalism” prevents any introspection.

“We’re America! We’re prefect!” thinking just lets the rot the fester. The only way to be a better country to is confront, talk, and learn from dark chapters.

Trump’s Triumphal arch is a joke, it has no symbolism of any value, where for instance the French “Arc de triomphe de l’Étoile” has double significance as praising the success of the Napoleon army, and as a symbolic memorial place for the unknown soldier, and today it has become a historic landmark.

What Trump is doing is putting up a huge piece of garbage of no value and slab his own name on it.
It’s a cheap copy of “the original” in Paris, both in concept and design. Much like a cheap Chinese copy of a Vuitton designer piece.
Trump has no style and no class, only someone completely without any sense of either could think such a project is cool.
