They’re going to get their way. They always were. There is no chance Mike Johnson is going to allow the House to stray too far away from Trump’s dick. There will be a few hems and haws from some token Republicans allowed to pretend to be concerned, but the bill will likely pass with little to no real opposition.
Because there’s a schedule for Project 2025. Clock’s ticking. They have to get a lot done before the next Presidential election.

A lot of the GOP probably think that they are good people who are using Trump as a necessary evil. Every time they do Trump’s bidding after initially resisting, they think, “Okay, just a little bit more evil, it’s all for the greater good.”
I just struggle with how you can vote down things like Medicare/Medicare (or free meals for kids, etc) and think you’re a good person. Especially because they cut all of that for tax breaks and higher government spending, so it’s not even a deficit issue.
Competing interests. It’s not about support it’s about what do they get in return for their support and most of them the most important thing is promises for their next reelection. Then mony.
The GOP just like the Democrats aren’t a monolith. The Dems may be more fractured, but there’s still 2-3 major groups in the Republican party and not all are 100% behind Trump.

The house can stop it, but that seems unlikely. It had a better chance of block in Senate.
Although if the house edits it the senate would have to vote for it again.
Ironically some of the house hardliners may kick the bill back because the senate changed some of the things the Trump wanted
They can but they won’t.
It’s going to be close, they barely passed it the first time. The speaker really didn’t want the senate to make changes and they did. It passed the senate in a tie, so the house really can’t change anything, which could be a problem for marginal supporters and hardliners.
