Shutting down the government also means we stop doing any and all government work. That includes NASA, and anything else funded by tax dollars. I’d rather they just do their damn jobs and fund the government so I can do my job.

Depends on who you asked. I wanted to see what conservatives had to say about it, and they’re saying the exact opposite. Granted I was looking at gab.com, so take it with a grain of salt. I have no idea how representative that site is of conservatives viewpoints.

If we do make it that far, I imagine we’ll diverge from our homeworld and use whatever is convenient for us if we ever become self sufficient.
