The fact that he’s free speaks volumes about our failure “justice” system.
Free is one thing. Fuckin duder is campaigning. Like what the actual fuck…
He doesn’t deserve the title of Duder, and the title of Duder doesn’t deserve such a stain.
I would like to issue an apology to all Duders out there. I am sincerely sorry.
Thanks to your swift and sincere apology, your Duder status has been upheld. Duder on.
Not only that…there’s a good chance he is going to WIN again. What the fuck is anything?
Yes, and if he was locked up without due process, it would say something else.
They lock people up without due process awaiting trial all the time though right?
Depends, there’s certainly a good argument to be made that the bail system is flawed, etc. But trump was arraigned and is out on bail.
Yes you’re right, I forgot about the bail part. And the bail system certainly is flawed. Generally aren’t you not allowed to leave your state if you’re out on bail?
It depends on the state and the bail conditions, which can be modified. Restrictions are based on priors, flight risk, violent tendency, etc.
That’s why the gag orders make the news. To your point, folks would be knocked for shit like that.
This line is being crossed on purpose. He can get his propaganda out, and if he actually gets tagged, that’s even better propaganda.
Which sucks. But, I imagine the decision-making by the courts is based on avoiding creating a political prisoner out of him. So, we deal with a flawed system, increase fines, and wait for the process to unfold.
“May we live in interesting times” and all that.
Yes I think I have to agree that (I hope) there is a long game going on where they are minimizing the chance of asking for appeal, a slam dunk case. And of course his base would love nothing more than to have him in prison, as theb he becomes a martyr. For what’s its worth id rather live in boring times!
If there’s one lesson I’ve learned in my 48 years, it’s that boring moments are underrated and moments are overrated. Everyone says they are bored and want some excitement, but excitement doesn’t mean good things. More often than not, it is something bad. I’d rather have a boring day than an exciting one.
I still hope that one day politics will be boring again. No “if the Republican gets into office democracy might fail.” No “Trump is calling for the arrest of anyone who spoke up against him.” Just “the two major party candidates have differing opinions but both would lead this country competently.” Make Politics Boring Again!
Exactly, me too!
They lock people up without due process awaiting trial all the time though right?
No. No they literally do not.
Do you have a different source? https://calmatters.org/justice/2021/03/waiting-for-justice/
How does that show lack of due process? And what do you define as “all the time?”
DeAndre Davis has been waiting 651 days in a Sacramento County jail. Charged with the murder of a 21-year-old man shot during a robbery in 2019, he hasn’t been tried and he hasn’t been sentenced — and he hasn’t even had a preliminary hearing to decide if there’s enough evidence to take him to trial.
For Davis, it’s been an agonizing ordeal made worse by the pandemic. Held without bail because of the severity of the charges
While this is all awful and should all change, it is hardly being held “without due process”
Things can be bad without being the worst thing possible.
Do you not think that being held in jail for 651 days without even a preliminary hearing is lack of due process?
Seems like a violation of the 14th amendment to me.
https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/amdt14-S1-3/ALDE_00013743/#ALDF_00028619
I quoted the part where they’re getting due process. What they’re not getting is a speedy trial. The reasons for this are a system that’s overwhelmed.
Specifically they’re being held so long because of a failure in the act of complying with due process.
Funny, there’s a jail a couple of miles from me full of a few thousand people who would disagree with you.
If he wasn’t wealthy and white he’d be behind bars right now awaiting trial.
He’s wealthy and orange though.
Yes, rich people pay bail all the time. We shouldn’t we make a political prisoner because of that.
Bail was literally devised as a means to keep wealthy people out of prison while putting undo burden on working class people charged with the same crime. 100,000 dollars isn’t realistic for most people to have available, but wealthy criminals can toss that out like cab fare
Yes, there are issues with the bail system. Although, it’s not usually 200k.
But that’s not the point. The point is that he’s going through the process, and we shouldn’t just jail political figures without due process. It’s crazy to me how many people can’t understand that.
It’s crazy to me how you can’t understand how corruption works
You think it’s corrupt justice departments pressing charges in multiple states and federally?
Due process does not mean, “scott free until there’s a guilty verdict”, you utter numpty. These aren’t all civil charges.
I suppose being rude makes you feel good, strong, and right.
I know he’s rich, but a 200k bail is not Scott free. People pay bail all the time.
When you’re rich, $200,000 and “free” are the same thing.
Yes, sure. There are many issues with the bail system, but people should not be locked up without due process. Charges were brought, bail was set, and he’s awaiting trial. Time will tell the rest of it, but that’s not getting off Scott free.
Most of us would be held during trial if we threatened the court personnel and violated gag orders the way he has.
But it’s not a criminal trial (yet). We’ll see if that changes in Georgia.
The wheels of justice grind very slowly. The bigger the case, the longer it takes to build.
But yes, I’m getting impatient. There should be consequences for trying to overthrow the government.
“Justice delayed is justice denied”, especially if it’s delayed long enough for the defendant to dismantle the justice system itself.
Yes, fair. I want an air tight case, and that takes time. It’s frustrating. But a flimsy case would be worse. Putting him directly into jail would be worse and set a terrible precedent. People seem eager to fall head first into his narrative.
Not rich people wait in jail while the case is built. They pay outrageously high bonds if they don’t wait in jail. This guy has done neither, and is accused of High Treason
He should have been arrested on the spot and thrown into gitmo while the courts decide what to do with the body.
I just want him to get the same treatment I would get if I committed a serious crime in broad daylight.
Sure, we’ll all be waiting for a verdict with baited breath.
Also about the failure of our national security apparatus.

Title is misleading. There are definitely boos, but the headline makes is seem like a majority were boos vs a mix of boos and cheering.
Video sounded like uproarious cheers mostly. It’s a southern crowd.
The video inside the stadium was mostly cheers the groups that posted up by the entrance to boo him as he drove in was more boos. It’s a Clemson South Carolina game. It would be absurd to think a majority of people booed him.
Steven Cheung, a spokesman for Trump, told a Newsweek editor in an email to “step away from your computer on a Saturday night and come to an event sometime to experience the electric Trump effect.”
That troll is so far up his own ass it’s difficult to imagine how he still manages to be up Trump’s ass.
Imagine being him and thinking, “Mm, yeah. I gotta be his promoter.”
Then again, a former Trump Org finance person broke down in tears last week, because he’s sad they got caught committing fraud, and it makes him stressed that there’s all these lawyers and investigators poking around. Some of these people are beyond help.
The kind of electricity you get by putting pennies on a 40 amp fuse.
A turducken of windbags maybe.
He should be in prison, not a football game.
He’ll want every attendee charged with high treason, no less.
Why were there any cheers?
Because there are still plenty of dipshits that inexplicably adore this fuckwad.
It’s also South Carolina. The “inexplicable” part is the lack of education and the resulting increased susceptibility to brainwashing
Yeah, fuck South Carolina, I’m an American!
Don’t ruin my day, man.
You are surrounded be idiots. The average person is very stupid. Complacency is why we got Trump the first time. People sitting in their asses saying he won’t win and then not bothering to vote or just tossing it away for the third party as a petty protest.
Don’t blame people voting third party for the inability of the Democrats to be able to draw in voters. If they just did environmentally friendly policies and called out human rights abuses they could essentially sweep the Green voters back into their fold.
I can blame both and do. No it wasn’t a good choice, but one was inherently bad and should never have been able to run. I didn’t like Hillary, but I didn’t like Trump way before that. Voting 3rd party is legit a waste until the way we view changes or we somehow get one 3rd party candidate that isn’t crap and has actual power to swing and knock out the two others. Which won’t happen. And continues to not happen.
Yeah, we should just not vote third party until EVERYONE is on board. It might totally happen if we keep doing that.
Voters are responsible for who they vote for. Democrats didn’t make anyone stay home, vote third party, or vote for Trump. It’s not Democrats’ fault so many people can’t tell the difference between an uninspiring candidate and a guy following Hitler’s playbook for becoming a dictator.
So one party can just be casually corrupt and evil because the other party is overt about it?
This is just wholly stupid. The Democrats aren’t casually corrupt and evil, any more than the Greens or Communists or any other political party is. And we’re not telling you you have to vote for the Evil Party ™. You know what we’re telling you? We’re telling you that the current voting system punishes you for voting third party.
Let’s take a district that has 51 Lefty voters and 49 Righty voters. The Right Party doesn’t have to convince 2 people to vote for the Major Right party to flip the seat from the Left to the Right. If they can convince 3 Lefty voters to vote for the minor Left party “because the major Left party isn’t Left enough,” they can win despite more people voting against them than for them. And many districts in the US (and indeed elsewhere in the world) are on such a knife-edge. If you want your particular ‘pure’ and ‘just’ Left party to have a shot, you got to change the election rules so that me voting for your guy doesn’t get the Cheeto Fascist on the other side elected. Unless and until you lot get that through your thick skulls, we’re going to keep reminding you that voting Third Party in First Past the Post is just voting for the guy most opposed to your positions to get in instead and either you’re too stupid to recognise that fact, or you’re actually secretly a Republican in disguise trying to divide our vote so you can steal the election and erase Democracy.
And then Democrats get so overconfident that they think they can help carry out a genocide and still win the next election.
Trump wouldn’t do any better though nor would a republican. It’s a situation WE shouldn’t be in.that simple.
Writing a blank check for genocide
We can both reelect Biden and still call to hold him to account for Israel. I don’t think that’s entirely unfair, especially when Trump has directly stated he wants to basically turn the government into a bludgeon against people he doesn’t like, starting with immigrants and probably working his way down.
You really think Trump would be better here?
Because it’s South Carolina. They don’t florinate their water but will drink the cool aid all day long.
SC doesn’t florinate their water, but they do fluoridate it. I’m not even sure what florination is.
Kool-Aid*
What smart state are you from?
Lmao, Cheeto Man
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Former President Donald Trump was met with loud boos as he arrived at Williams-Brice Stadium in South Carolina on Saturday ahead of the Palmetto Bowl.
The former president was invited to watch the football game at the request of Governor Henry McMaster, who became Haley’s successor after Trump named her U.S. ambassador to the United Nations in 2017.
The MAGA leader was greeted with audible boos as his black SUV was arriving at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday, according to video clips shared on X, formerly Twitter.
Simon Ateba, Chief White House Correspondent at Today News Africa, shared a video on X showing the crowd inside the stadium cheering and clapping for the former president.
Trump’s stop in South Carolina comes amid potential key updates involving his criminal and civil trials that could tarnish his 2024 presidential campaign.
“Additional video from AP’s Meg Kinnard captures the mix of cheers and boos when Trump + McMaster walked onto the field tonight for a quick appearance during halftime of the USC-Clemson football game,” Byrd posted.
The original article contains 533 words, the summary contains 172 words. Saved 68%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
The fact this chorrizo hasn’t been shot yet is what surprised me the most. Or, you know, burned, stabbed, mangled… whatever.
People who promise actual real change usually get shot when other options don’t work. Trump is just more sewage.
I bet there are a lot of republicans at a South Carolina football game
We don’t like using the ® word around here. It’s degrading and dehumanizing. Best to call them mentally handicapped.
