Summary

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) argued that California does not deserve federal aid for its deadly Los Angeles wildfires unless the state adopts changes.

In a Newsmax interview, Tuberville criticized California leadership, falsely attributing wildfire mismanagement to “inner-city woke policies.”

While he expressed willingness to support some funding, he insisted it be conditional on reforms.

The wildfires have killed 24 people and destroyed thousands of homes, per the Associated Press, intensifying debates on state accountability and federal disaster relief.

Were all just hairy monkeys “ooging” into the void, friend. I absolutely feel this in my bones, and frankly i do think its a lack of education and other factors contributing to it. Throughout our recent history (lets say about 50 years) education dept budgets have been getting slashed, burned, and changed, especially in the south. I always find it very interesting to see how the attitudes and perspectives of voters have changed throughout the years. Anyone in politics in the 80-90s era never saw natural disasters as a partisan issue, it actually was more of a reason to throw politics aside and help your fellow countrymen. Because we lived in the same country meant we should act UNIFIED against any threat, natural or otherwise. Nowadays it seems to be everyone for themselves, or try to convince a democrat to help so you can stab them in the back in 2 years.

California needs to stop paying into federal coffers immediately. This illusion that the world’s 10th 5th largest economy is a mismanaged shithole needs to be publicly ridiculed.

I just hate these assholes so very much. I cannot imagine having everything in my life burned to the ground, literally, and then having these sanctimonious assholes sitting there and doing this performative bullshit just to “own the libs”.

I’m not saying it is right, but if a lot of these assholes start catching bullets, including the broligarch douchebags that are backing them, no one should be surprised.

I’m at the point where I’m questioning if it’s really wrong honestly.

They should be worried more and more people are experiencing the same thought.

A lot of these people hit with fire may be privileged in the general scheme of things, but then, so was Luigi.

And if I understand correctly, he ended up on the path he was on due to severe back pain? Which I’m sure can be excruciating. But then, I’m sure the loss of a house and basically everything you had might be very excruciating, too. And to have these assholes from other states playing games and trying to “own” more than half the country, all while you suffer and for no reason?

I could easily see how that would lead someone down a certain path…

It would be hilarious that a senator from fucking ALABAMA is insisting that California needs reforms, if not for the fact that Tuberville is an absolute waste of oxygen. It’s like hearing a funny stand-up bit and then learning it was performed by your brain tumor.

If he means forcibly depopulate/abandon all of SoCal in the face of rapidly changing climate, and water shortages, I’m here for it. But that isn’t what he means, so fuck him.

I really would hope it wouldn’t need to be said, but uhh everybody deserves disaster relief… California, Alabama, whatever state, or country it happens to be. I really don’t think it’s constructive to engage in angry shit flinging on this topic.

California should stop sending any federal taxes to the government until they’ve fixed up their state.

Tuberville’s state will have to make do without their portion of California’s huge contribution to the federal budget.

Cali should stop paying federal shit then. See how much your State rakes in from Cali taxes, Tuber. Here’s a hint: its orders of magnitude more than fucking Alabama contributes to the union as a whole.

I’m pretty sure the US has to pay for the privileges having that trash state attached to the southeast US.
