Sure, there are no good guys in any war, since the good guys are never the ones with guns killing each other.

But the more genocidal death camps you have, the bigger a baddy you are. It’s not that difficult to understand.

I’m Jewish, I’m very aware that the side running brutal racist internment camps was meaningfully less bad than the side running brutal genocidal death camps. Neither qualify as good.

The Axis existed as a coalition of countries who wanted to expand their lands at the cost of their neighbor’s lives.

The Allies existed purely as a defensive response to the Axis.

A person with a gun fighting to defend their families is not “just as evil” as a person with a gun invading the home of others. Before we even get into camps, unethical medical research, and genocide, you really can’t “both sides” this one.

I don’t think it’s fair to characterize global colonialist powers like Britain, France, or the US as not violent expansionists.

Don’t put words in my mouth.

I characterized the Allies actions as a defensive response. And they provably were not violently expanding during WW2. I didn’t say a word about their actions and behaviors prior to WW2.

The fuck do you suggest “good people” do facing invasion? Lay down and let the Axis steal, rape, murder, and genocide their way through Europe?

Good people fight back against bad people. Saying or doing anything less is to be complicit in their actions.

                Apologies.

But if being a violent expansionist makes the axis bad (which it obviously does) then the allies are clearly just less bad in this particular situation rather than actually good, since all the allied powers have extensive histories of violent expansionism.

                  Thank you.

I’m not saying you don’t have a point, but the people are not their countries, their ancestors choices, or their governments, and vice versa. I fundamentally reject the premise of your argument.

Inaction is as much a choice as action. When an invader comes to your town and starts killing innocents like children, and you chose to not act, you’re a little bit complicit.

Pacifists are just as unethical as the rest, because it allows, permits and other condones violence.
