When’s the last time you saw a car other than red, black, blue, gray, or white on the road?
Like, what happened to all the pinks, purples, oranges, yellows, and greens I remember from the 90s?
Cars have gotten so bland and boring, like new construction homes. Just plain, boring, and more expensive than ever.
Bring back the harlequin!

There’s an orange truck on our street but I swear half the cars on the road here are white. What the fuck is up with all those white cars?
Once of my sisters has a… what is it called… champagne (I think) colored SUV. One of my brothers has a bright green car, like a kiwi lime color. Another brother has a 2 tone car that’s half orange half black.
I’ve got a dark blue myself, but if I could afford a paint job it would without a doubt be a nice yellow. Like a dandelion kind of shade. I absolutely looooove the color yellow.
i mean taxis are a thing too
I see green and orange Subarus. There’s an iridescent pink Tesla in my neighborhood. Those colors aren’t as common as the black and white ones mentioned above.
If full vinyl wraps were cheaper, you’d see iridescent pink and purple and orange cars everywhere!
Someone near me drives one of those pink Mary K cars, so I see it pretty frequently. It’s also not too uncommon to see forest green SUVs in the area also.
My theory of because of the rental fleet to used car lots flow. Rental fleets will buy newer cars, then sell them back to the dealerships so they can sell them as used cars. It’s much easier to sell generic coloured cars, than highlighter piss yellow
With how many highlighter piss yellow vehicles are still on the road I genuinely think they would sell still.
I saw an orange car yesterday. I don’t know the model.
I want a car that is painted with only vibrant colors, and different colors for each part of the car. It would look hideous, but at least I would never lose it in a parking lot.
I mean if I was gonna get a bunch of vibrant colors I would just theme it like a pride flag, tbh.
Today, because my car is green 😝
I actually hate the attention it gets, but I’m poor and it was cheap. Never seems like a good idea to me if other drivers can easily remember you. On the other hand, I can always find it in a big parking lot.
I saw a green one the other day too
I see a beat up old lime green Hilux around where I live with a big “The Sword” sticker on the aide window of the camper. I want to have a beer and listen to good metal with the owner.
I’m from the UK and recently was in Toronto so rented a car to get around and also to drive to Montreal. We will observed that all the cars were very limited in colours. Is it a North American thing?
In the UK, it has been getting less diverse but still a fair bit of variety
Same experience here. White cars are increasingly common as apparently they have the highest resale value. Quite boring.
They also have the highest rate of paint failure when they are parked in the sun. Paint peels right off.
My partner and I drive a bright green Chevy Bolt EV (“Shock” is the official name of the color) and we love the smiles we sometimes get.
Every day. But I’m living in one of the most show off cities in the US. There is no day without spotting a 200k+ car.
Wraps, plasti-dips are really really common. And actually doing a full paint job is relatively cheap alsoSame but im also in a VERY car centric city. They dont always look good here haha.
Nope h the question of “why would they pay for that?” Comes often to my mind.
I just saw a pearl white wrapped tesla. It had a very very light pink sheen to it, it was basically 99% white…Thats funny. and terrible design haha.
Today: yellow, turquoise, green, all in a carpark near my house.
