There are two paths forward;

• Burn down the entire thing (which Trump and frenemies are currently doing).
• rebuild and reform the existing system (which can happen by voters voting for progressive centralist candidates in local and state representatives en-mass (like in NYC).

I would not call Zohran Mandani a socialist. I would call him a progressive rational centralist.

I can’t remember the combination of buttons you need to hold down on your iPhone to disable biometric unlocking and to force erase your phone.

Anyone else remember these, and know the equivalent combination for Android devices, please comment.

Keeping multiple devices is the easiest way to get by. Have a burner phone for everyday use when travelling and keep your main phone either at home, or locked and unpowered in your luggage.

But if I stopped buying from AliExpress, I would have to purchase the exact same thing from Amazon or eBay at 10 times the price, and if I boycott the US companies as well, I would need to buy the exact same thing at 100 times the price from Bunnings!

(Meanwhile AliExpress sellers are reselling the exact same thing that can be purchased in bulk from AliBaba at 1/10th the price)

The currently executive in the US is either completely incompetent or maliciously trying to destroy the US.

The legislature sets laws. The senate approves laws. The judiciary interprets laws.

If the legislature doesn’t like how a law is interpreted, they can change the wording to be less ambiguous, but it would still need to be approved by the senate. This new law would supersede any precedents.

The executive is there to keep the system functioning, not to create any laws itself.

I’m not sure. I want a Linux Phone or compact tablet with a premium quality camera.

I would be happy if it does not have a capability to run Android Apps; only native KDE or GNOME apps. I would also be happy if it doesn’t support X and only works with Wayland.

The legacy of X, iOS and Android is a liability.

I reckon that the next phone I get will be a Linux Phone.

I will keep my iPhone mini for those things where I need an Android or iPhone (banking, government, etc), but my daily driver will be something that I have complete control over.

I live in a safe Australian LNP seat, the odds are that on Saturday night, our neighbours and I are (very likely) going to continue having a Right-Wing member of Parliament.

That does still mean that even though they are voting for our local MP, they are also voting for a former 1980s Queensland Cop with a suspiciously large amount of money as PM.

I would be happy if every (Australian) Coalition candidate and all the Right-Wing independent candidates received Zero votes this election, otherwise there are too many Australian Fuckwits.

I disagree. It should have been a complete landslide.

The fact that Pierre Poilievre received any votes at all suggests that almost 5 Million Canadian Voters are still fuckheads.

I have a Tent with built in LED lighting and the switch is illuminated, so you can find it at 3:00AM when you go for a wee. It uses 5V over a USB-A plug. Quite nifty!

The problem is that it does not adhere to the USB spec so after a minute, the power bank decides that nothing is connected and stops supplying power (as a safety feature). You then have to wake up the power bank back up to can find the light switch, which you can’t do without lights on.

Anyone who uses gMail knows (or should know) that their data is being used for commercial purposes. Any business that uses Google.Business or MS Office should also be aware that they are giving away all their corporate secrets, regardless of any “Opt-In”/“Opt-Out” broken promises.
