The Trump administration pushed for an unusually aggressive search of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s house in recent days in an immigration fraud probe that targets the congresswoman, possible false statements made on government documents, and a potential conspiracy, according to multiple people familiar with the investigation.

Prosecutors, however, first had to contend with a federal magistrate judge, in a prolonged back-and-forth that hasn’t previously been reported. Judge Matthew Sharbaugh of the DC District Court ultimately limited how the Justice Department could access Omar’s documents in Monday’s search, before he would approve the warrant, because of her role as a member of Congress and the Constitutional protections that affords, multiple people familiar with the investigation told CNN.

The investigators’ inquiries that prompted the search include whether Omar or her now-deceased father lied about her age when she obtained citizenship in 2000, claiming she was a minor when she was of adult age.

I get it now! These are Republicans so they’re going to argue 12 is an adult, it will serve their “needs” in other areas as well. Oh hey look, side affect, Trump didn’t rape anyone he was with “adults!”

Surely there’s a statute of limitations on this. You can’t let somebody be a citizen for 26 years then strip them of it. Even if they did lie.

John Demjanjuk had his citizenship revoked in the 80s after having lived in the US for three decades, but that was for valid reasons.

Both R’s and D’s have passed a host of laws allowing things like deporting naturalized citizens, because Israel to a large degree. This is a problem the democrats helped make.

The UK did it first I would add. Allowing them to strip citizenship and deport them to places they’ve never been, without even citizenship in that country. I think they passed theirs in the wake of their subway bombings.
