White House officials installed Gregg Phillips at FEMA in December, despite his history of promoting election conspiracy theories, particularly in the aftermath of the 2020 election. Second, it’s almost kind of a shame, because (at least so I’d heard) once he got into the job he realized FEMA actually wasn’t a scam and started trying to run it well. Probably the real reason he got ousted.
