        Because he knows he only got elected by parroting a right wing version of populist politics popularized by Bernie Sanders in the 2016 election. He can win against the establishment candidates, but fails against progressives head to head and he knows it.

    I’m a little curious if this helps or hurts. Collins tries to pass herself off as the most moderate of Republicans, so it could chill her usual base… but, she also is disliked by MAGA folk, so this might give them marching orders.

    My guess is it’s a net negative because she’s already done her homework and knows she needs to position herself a moderate to win Maine… especially if Platner struggles with them as I think he might.

      If Trump can be president, then you, being a much smarter person (not just probably, but definitely, even though I haven’t looked at your post history and have no idea who you are) have a chance at winning whatever seat you’d like.

  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
