Summary

President-elect Donald Trump’s team is reportedly planning to end two Biden-era immigration programs, potentially making hundreds of thousands of migrants who entered the U.S. legally eligible for deportation.

These programs—CBP One and the CHNV parole program—allowed over 1.3 million migrants from countries like Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to enter the U.S. legally.

Trump’s initial deportation focus is expected to include individuals deemed national security risks, such as Chinese nationals of military age, as well as those with criminal convictions.

Legal challenges are anticipated, similar to those seen during Trump’s first term.

He can’t [legally] deport US citizens either, but he has promised to do so. Who’s going to stop him? Congress? The courts? Republicans will control both.

The citizens. It’s up to us to say when enough is enough. We give him power, and when we don’t listen, then he loses power. Only a little above 50% is claiming to be in his court rn, and that can shift any second. Plus it’s an American circumstance to take and keep immigrants regardless of what politicians say the state of the border is. It’s all a farce and the US has never stopped taking immigrants

The same citizens who couldn’t take few hours out of their day to stop this transfer of power in the first place, via a system specifically meant for it?

The system itself is working exactly as it’s supposed to and that’s the problem. It didn’t matter about those people that you are referring to not voting. They stopped the count when Trump got the electoral votes. Meaning the popular vote wouldn’t have made a difference

No. The electoral college did. They stopped counting the popular vote when he got enough electoral votes

They announced him as the winner before they even finished counting the popular vote. It’s not stupid shit at all. Look back at the 2016 election. Trump won the electoral votes there as well, while Hillary won the popular vote. And Hillary did not get the presidency.

Yeah, because they knew how many electoral votes each candidate got, it’s how that system works. That doesn’t mean they just stop counting the popular vote

Do they stop counting when a winner is announced or not, you’re inconsistent here

They didn’t stop the count, but it stopped counting. That’s my point. And that the popular vote doesn’t matter while electoral votes are a thing

“the popular vote stopped mattering” is a significantly less shitty wording of your already poor point

The people elected him because people still voted for him. If nobody voted for him then the electoral votes woulda gone elsewhere

Lmao okay then head your ass down to the border and open it why don’t you. If it’s so simple. “We the people” should be doing it so go on, you start since you’re so sure we can stop the deportations.
