If everyone made the mistake that the first reply wasn’t me, and it’s clearly visible - yet numerous people are attributing that original comment to me – that doesn’t mean I’m wrong because a mass of morons piled on.

Your argument is an “Appeal to popularity”, and is one of the fallacies people commonly make when discussing things.

I didn’t think you were the same person as the first reply, but it sure sounded like you were agreeing with them.

Your argument is an “Appeal to popularity”, and is one of the fallacies people commonly make when discussing things.

This comment is a “fallacy fallacy,” and is one of the fallacies people commonly make when they first learn about fallacies.
If an argument is a fallacy that doesn’t mean the conclusion is wrong.
Just because an argument takes the appearance of a fallacy doesn’t mean it is one.

The situation is you made a post expressing a point of view, and it was interpreted as expressing the opposite. So either you expressed yourself poorly or those misunderstanding lack reading comprehension.

The number of people who misunderstood your intent is relevant evidence for you expressing yourself poorly. So is the lack of other posts that have had a large number of people misunderstand.

But let’s say your right, all these people are morons. Surprisingly, ranting “you’re all morons, stop being morons” is ineffective at helping morons understand or prevent them from being morons in the future. Clarifying your intention and adjusting how you communicate so the morons can understand you will fix both of these issues.

Clarifying your intention and adjusting how you communicate is also an effective solution if the problem was indeed you expressing yourself poorly.

So either way, your ranting about people being morons is further evidence that other people are not the problem here.

Guess you missed the part where I first described HOW you were wrong, and then added on that the argument was ALSO a fallacy at the end. Pointing out the fallacy does not in itself make my argument the fallacy fallacy. But hey, you weren’t smart enough to understand any of that anyways. The fallacy fallacy is if I were saying you were wrong simply because of your argumentative fallacy. All I did was point it out at the end as a notation.

Also, love the alts. Getting a rapid number of downvotes all at once like that, this deep in the thread means you’re either a: really pissed, or b: coordinating with others, it’s hilarious.

Guess you missed the part where I explained why it wasn’t a fallacy and was valid to the discussion.

And I only have 1 account dude, so either you have a persecution complex, or you are replying to so many people that brings them back to read the new posts and downvote your nonsense.

Either way, it once again suggests that you should consider that maybe the problem isn’t other people (you are the only common thread here), and maybe you need to take a break.
