Despite the impressive growth in broad economic indicators like GDP and a reduction in unemployment, millions of Americans are grappling with an ongoing humanitarian crisis. The Democrats’ touted economic recovery, often referred to as “Bidenomics,” faces scrutiny as food insecurity reaches its highest level since Biden took office, and financial hardship in 2023 is worse than in the previous three years. While the initial aid measures helped alleviate the blow of the COVID-19 pandemic, the subsequent failure to enact a robust social agenda and the termination of temporary aid programs have left many Americans struggling. The situation is compounded by the fact that the country’s strong economic recovery has not translated into welfare for many, as financial distress increased significantly after the expiration of pandemic aid programs. This dichotomy between macroeconomic success and the reality on the ground has led to growing discontent, with recent polls reflecting low approval of Biden’s economic leadership.
Food insecurity? That shit was greatly reduced with the expanded child tax credit and then both parties failed to continue it. It was a rare silver bullet that worked and our government, not one party, failed to make it permanent.
Don’t both sides this. Democrats couldn’t get it done. Republicans actively wanted it gone.

No shit. The economy has been increasing rigged against the middle and working classes for 40+ years now. We went from single-income, blue collar homeowners to dual-income white collar renters. And now we’re in the final stages where even the credit economy can no longer sustain our basic needs.

Biden said that under him, essentially nothing would change. And nothing has. Hillary promised The similar philosophy of “incremental change”. These old Democrats are simply out of touch. Anyone who doesn’t treat the economy as a thing in CRISIS is not living in reality.

The ONLY thing that’s going to fix this is if millennials can grab control of the Democratic party from the Boomers. If we can get AOC or some other Bernie Sanders-esque politician to actually be the Democratic nominee, we can move this country to the left with the same vigor that the MAGAts moved it to the right.

I’ve got to end on this note: don’t let critiques of Bidenomics fool you into voting Republican. Biden is helping, but not nearly enough. Republicans are foaming at the mouth to make everything worse for the working and middle class. They tried to take away our healthcare. They tried to add RETROACTIVE interest to student loans. They are holding minimum wage at poverty levels. They cut food stamps. They want to gut social security.
So yeah. Biden bad. Republicans incalculably worse.
