It heavily varies.
Today we went to a picnic/party with my wife’s (and son’s) Karate studio. Every couple months there’s a Karate event of some kind, on a Saturday.
I’ll often spend an hour or two doing yardwork, if it’s needed.
Ideally, every other week, once of my son’s friends comes over, and we all play D&D for an hour or two. That used to be on every other Friday, when I don’t work, but since my wife now has work stuff every Friday evening, we have quite transitioned that over to a regular pace on Saturdays.
If there’s a moviebwe feel like going to see in theatres, it usually happens on a Saturday. Also sometimes bowling.
Every three weeks, I take a short trip to library with my son, in the morning, to either renew or exchange our books.
Once a month, we’ll go to the library in the next town over for Chess Club.
We DO pretty much always swap out and wash bedsheets on Saturdays.
Go sailing! …and then get drawn back into hackin’ after I get home.
I didn’t even realize it was Saturday. I had a good wank, worked out, took a shower, and played some games. Took care of the outdoor plants and the birdbath. Now I’m making some lasagna.
Saturday is a day dedicated to me. I’ve felt not great physically all year, so I’ve been drained from my Mon-Fri job. Saturdays my wife works a 12 hour shift, so I sleep in (the plan is until 8, but it’s been more to 10-11 lately) and the rest of the day is watching movies my wife won’t watch (horror, war, or just plain slow, weird, or subtitled) and practicing piano.
Sunday is dedicated to the animal rehab in the AM and chores in the PM, so that’s why I claim Saturday.
Mostly get called names on Rocket league, go to the garden centre or a stately home, or break my pc again. Keeps me happy.
Sorry I’m not sure we have these where I live. What is a ‘stately home’?
Very very old big historic house.
Lounge in bed together for an extra hour or two, have a coffee, and watch a show or college game day. Make some breakfast. Work on little projects or hobbies (today we need to go empty a storage unit before the next billing cycle), maybe go swimming, run some errands, maybe haircut or nails, maybe have friends over in the evening or have a date night.
ETA- forgot to mention my favorite weekend activity-the rerack! Wake up early, browse my phone or read for a bit until you start to feel the sleepies, and then go completely back to sleep for an hour. I don’t know why, but it feels like the best sleep ever, and you wake up feeling so good and rested.
Sleep in. DSA meetings in the afternoon usually
Avoid family while making dinner for them somehow
What’s for dinner tonight?
Burritos, with a side of chips and salsa. Prolly gonna dip out once its done
Nice. I always like to grill (or air fry) the burrito for a little texture contrast, but everyone else finds it a waste of time.
This sounds a bit more serious than I originally took it as you just wanted some peace and quiet from family. I avoid most of my family, and I see them maybe 2-4 times a year, but this sounds like less of an option for you. It sounds like you’re trying to be the bigger person by showing up with food even though you don’t want to. I wish you the best of whatever your situation is. ♥️
Nice, i finish mine in the air fryer too. I used to do it in the oven, but nobody else ever really seemed to care one way or another, so i just do it for mine now.
And thanks, its pretty much exactly how you’re imagining. I’m luckily going to be out of this particular situation by next year, so there’s hope on the horizon. Moving out’s been a long time coming.
I’m glad there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Getting away from my family is the second best thing I’ve ever done for myself, after getting my depression treated, which I of course, blame on so many years of not being able to get away from them!
I will support you in spirit as your crispy burrito bro!
I wake up early to watch the cartoons.
A friend of mine has a housewarming and birthday party at the same time, I’ll go there.
The question isn’t about this Saturday; it’s about a Saturday, meaning any typical Saturday.
They have a lot of friends who move and have birthdays
Fuckin around on the phone while my dog is outside. Reading a new Mat Dinniman book. Its a good day.
