I could understand hardcoded blacklists if Tesseract was meant as a frontend for a Lemmy instance tailored for a specific purpose, and not intended for general use. But this, to DDOS a website because the developer is a whiny baby who can’t take criticism? This is a new low. This is disgusting, and damaging for the Lemmyverse as whole.

I’m referring to the Web0 manifesto coined by Aral Balkan.
web0 is the decentralised web. In other words, web0 is web3 without all the corporate right-libertarian Silicon Valley bullshit.

Web0 is the way to go, not Web3.

A frontend should be a frontend. The decisions of what to blacklist should be up to the frontend’s user. Stupid decision on the developer’s part.

In one Simpsons episode Cletus was a president, I’d think he would do his job well.

It’s linked down there: https://github.com/LemmyNet

And even though there is higher quantity of discussion, the quality might vary heavily.
Nope. Communities are central to Lemmy. You can of course edit your own profile description if you want.

Javier Milei might have something to do with it.

Well, from a technical standpoint I am more prepared as an instance admin compared to Summer 2023. We’re running on powerful dedicated hardware after all.
There are so many, but the first song that came to my mind is “Dogman” by King’s X. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYx50Y5hkKA
So heavy and massive sound, the vocal harmonies are a cherry on top. King’s X is among the world’s most underrated bands, even though many thought it invented grunge.

If parents have pedagogic experience in teaching, understand the possible downsides and how to mitigate them, then I can understand homeschooling. Otherwise I’d recommend normal schooling.

Germany’s user count is nice.

Well, it wasn’t intended for kids but I watched it regardless, same with many other movies on my list.

Basically many movies from the 90s Disney Renaissance era:
And of course the Pixar movies from that era:
James Bond flicks:
Other movies:
Note that several of these movies weren’t for kids, but I got to watch them regardless.

I don’t think libertarianism works, it relies naively on how the free market is omnipotent, how freedom is everything and how having a small government is somehow good. There are no countries that are entirely libertarian, that also tells a lot about the ideology’s applicability in practice. A brilliant book about why libertarianism doesn’t work is a book “A Libertarian Walks into a Bear”. In the book, a group of libertarians decides to take over the small town of Grafton in New Hampshire en masse as part of their “Free Town Project”. Of course this group cares neither about the town’s original inhabitants nor their rights. What’s the result? They hollow out pretty much everything from the library, to the school, the fire department and the police. No regard is given to any laws on hunting or food disposal, and that lures in bears, who turn so aggressive that they invade people’s homes. In addition to bears, sex offenders and all kinds of criminals are also lured into Grafton. It’s pretty entertaining book, I recommend it.
Another reason why I dislike libertarianism is that it can function as a gateway to fascism. This is a known phenomenon. Several key figures in the alt-right for example used to be libertarians. I stumbled into a clip from some American Libertarian Party convention where Richard Spencer was with Ron Paul. I had to rub my eyes a bit.

This is a message board platform, period.
Okay, I say that is a lot more concise definition for what you’re aiming for. When a website declares to be for “free speech”, it carries a certain connotation these days. Look what Twitter has become after it got bought by Elon Musk and turned into a “free speech website” for example. And good that a line has been drawn so that bigotry isn’t allowed.
