Sam Bankman-Fried, the former crypto mogul who was convicted of defrauding investors by secretly diverting billions of dollars of their money, asked the Supreme Court on Thursday for a new trial and to throw out a court order requiring him to pay $11 billion as part of his sentence.

FIrst of all, bankman handled the political contributions to the democrats, while one of the other guys did it for republicans.
Second, Zhou or whatever, the other crypto douchelord hated his guts and did get (pay money under the table to the president,) a pardon.
Third, the case is so high profile, and some powerful people would’ve lost from their holdings.
So the president, whom has to be running a sliding scale on the bribe cost for pardons, would be demanding obscene amounts of money for one. Bankman must not have that kind of liquid assets available that he stored away.
