#FrancescaHong: “Our Movement Is Strong, and the Work Isn’t Done”
More than 300,000 Wisconsin voters backed a democratic socialist’s gubernatorial bid. That’s the measure of the strength of a new kind of politics.

[a welcome antidote to the disorienting horseshit from the NYT.]

…Hong practiced an old-school version of #Wisconsin #Democratic politics—recognizing the importance of building a coalition rooted in the progressive heartlands of Madison, the diverse precincts of Milwaukee, and the rural regions that #Democrats have so frequently neglected. […]Hong did something that is so rare in politics that it confused many of the national reporters who began following her as her campaign as it surged in the polls: She engaged in real conversations with Wisconsinites, joking with them, showing off her Milwaukee Bucks tattoo, and paying close attention when they talked about things like their concerns about #AI #DataCenters

I don’t blame anything about the way she ran her campaign. She will get another chance. The Wisconsin senators are 71 and 64 years of age.

Wasn’t she the one who constantly flipflopped on nearly every key issue when pressed? Like, she says shes DSA but no one vouched for her. Not AOC, not Bernie, not even Hasan backed her.

Hasan did back her. I also don’t remember any flip-flopping. And I do not believe she ever claimed to be endorsed by DSA.

So, straight up lying from this commenter.

She definitely claims to be DSA. And I can be wrong about Hasan. Sure, but Im absolutely right about flopping on her past statements.

I remember hearing about her during Cody’s Showdy

In 2020 she said in a tweet that “police exist to uphold white supremacy” and that she supported defunding the police and even abolishing them…

But then recent on Pod Save America she backtracked to say “I’m serious about public safety and I will not abolish the police”… she actually went on to say that she wants to give the more resources and training…

When she went on Fox News, they asked her if still believed the police support white supremacy, and she lost her spine, folded and said “no”

In 2020 she said that thinks Thanksgiving should be canceled since it celebrates a distorted history of colonialism. Pretty based…

But then in a recent CNN interview shes now calling Thanksgiving her favorite holiday…

Oh look, and here’s Bernie saying he wont endorse her

Soooo sorry I got the Hasan tidbit wrong. But dont call me a liar, I brought you the fucking receipts.

She didn’t flip flop during the campaign. All those tweets were from 2020 when everyone was at an emotional high between the pandemic and the George Floyd protests. She either evolved or deescalated after experiencing a turbulent moment in her life.

Mamdani also walked back on defunding the police and other tweets.

The guy who helped popularize socialism in America? A big part of the reason we have any movement at all?

Yeah, what a fucking loser, dude.

AOC and Bernie did not endorse likely because it was a swing state that was more challenging than Michigan, which is bluer. She was endorsed by both the Madison and Twin Ports chapters of DSA along with notable left figures like representatives Ilhan Omar and Ro Khanna, former Ohio Senator Nina Turner, Illinois representative candidate Kat Abughazaleh.
