Yeah, Detroits votes were definitely surprisingly low for him. But, that actually means he has a lot of support outside of Detroit because he still won. Which is good for the general election. Detroit isn’t gonna vote for a Republican anyway. But he still needs to make sure he addresses it and has good turnout from Detroit in the general.

I think it was a combination of conservatives voting for Stevens in the open primary (there was none for Republicans) and also the older voters of Detroit picking the establishment endorsed candidate. Basically, his disadvantage in the primary should flip to an advantage in the general when he’s the only one with a D next to his name on the ballot.
