The have always been very problematic, But in the United States they weaponized religious dogma to sweep it all out of public consciousness. If you’re Jewish, it’s the homeland. If you’re Christian or Catholic, it’s “where Jesus happened” and if you’re psychotic and racist, when you kick out all the Jews of the world and they all return there, god will take you into heaven, body and soul, and the rest of the world will be left to fight over the scaps of a burning wasteland, hell on Earth.

It always baffles me how Christians made a warning into a salvation story. “Body and soul to heaven” you will be obliterated by war and there won’t be a body left.
