People love to hate on things that get popular. Tale as old as time. It’s “cool” to hate something that is trendy.

It’s probably making a decent difference, yeah. But a lot of people don’t use those settings. I never charge my phone to only 80%. I know it’s an option, but it’s just not enough charge for me.
And these folding phones get HOT AF. Know what kills battery? Heat. I’ve been on my current Flip for about a year and while the battery life has definitely never been stellar on these things, there are some days now where my battery doesn’t last a full day’s usage.

That is absolutely fair and valid. Lemons do happen. I just think they aren’t nearly as common as people fear.

But it’s not though? Early generations, sure. But we’re at the point now where dropping a folded phone really does not have much of a difference in chance of breaking in than dropping a regular candybar phone.
You’re right in that technically it causes wear. In that regard, I suppose the fold mechanism would fail eventually. So it’s not going to be your daily driver for the next 10 years. But no phone is. Modern folding phones absolutely do well for the normal life of a phone (4-5 years maybe??).
Ime, battery has been the first thing to shit the bed of any given phone (folding or not). Yes, you can get them replaced, but that’s become either a complicated and/or expensive process nowadays. Your battery is going to become unusable before your screen breaks simply from wear alone.

Women’s pants generally aren’t deep enough. So the length of the phone absolutely makes a difference over the thickness in terms of that.
Source: My pants. It had been a frustrating saga over the ever increasing size of smartphones when women’s pants pockets weren’t expanding to match. Stumbled into the Z Flip line and was hooked. It finally did solve the problem for many of us

Women’s pants are practically non-existent. I was elated to finally find a phone that can fit in my damn pants. Been on the Z Flip line ever since and I’d be heartbroken to see it go.
Plus whipping it open and closed to answer and disconnect calls is fun AF.

Thank you for a sane take. So many people online seem to not understand the reality of things like drug addiction, alcoholism, homelessness, etc. None of these are quick fixes and all of these spiral into one another.
Is the infuriating part supposed to be that someone got to the butter before you? Or is it that you don’t like how it was scooped? What is the “correct” way if this is “incorrect”? Genuinely curious.

I definitely feel the same. For years I had watched hone renovation shows with my mom and they looked nice but at the end they started to feel all soulless. Stumbled into this one home reno show several years back that was totally different. I was practically in awe…colors, wood tones, reasonably priced remodels! Idk if the show is still like that or not, but it really felt like a breath of fresh air.
I’m a Millennial, so I get that this stuff has been trending with people my age for the past decade or so, but I’ve just not been into it either.
Needed to buy a car several years ago and I went out of my way to try to find a car with a COLOR. It was a bit more of a hassle, but I’m glad I did.

This person’s whole account is filled with bizarre stuff, really

OP, are you sure you are actually dehydrated? Are you getting kidney stones?
Most people don’t need to actively concentrate on drinking liquids. Your body will tell you when you’re thirsty. It’s a weird internet fad where people try to drink like a gallon of water a day. It’s not necessary. Your body tells you when it’s hungry and it tells you when you need to drink liquids. You’re not going to die from failure of the body signaling you to eat or drink.
Now, if you’ve had kidney stones, your doctor may tell you that you need to be drinking more water.
Beyond that, excessive water drinking is just the latest fad right now. It’s not necessary.

I used my first floor pedal flushing toilet in a “fancier” than typical porta potty recently. Was a pretty nice thing to have. Maybe it’s not ADA (USA term for disability laws and regulations) compliant though?

Those worked for you? They have always been comically small such that they are barely usable, if at all.

I really don’t even think you need to go that far. All you need is a paper towel dispenser and a trash can next to the door. OR a door that pushes out when you’re inside, like you said.
But you don’t even need both of these, just one. My favorite is the latter.
Hands free sink and soap is nice, but unnecessary.
I work a physical/tactile job in healthcare. My job won’t be in danger until robotics dramatically advance and cheapen. AI could conceptually do my job, but the physicality is missing. A lot of healthcare careers are this way. Not all of them are though, so be wise in your choice!
What’s the relation of this gif in your post to the static photo? It’s this an ad in the Duolingo app or something? It’s hard to make the connection to that. And this part of the gif is small and in the corner. All you need next time is a bit more of a description!
I clicked on the post instead of scrolling by and I am still incredibly confused.

Sadly mine doesn’t seem to work properly. Nothing in that region does.
It’s difficult, man. It will probably make you happier if you could just forget about it, but brains don’t work that way. Plus some people just seem to be way better at it than others.
A mildly traumatic thing happened in my workplace. I have plenty of functional days, but other days things return to my brain without my inviting them and it makes it more difficult to function. Sometimes I get transported back into time like I’m there.
One thing I read about is the concept of mental “time traveling”. When we remember these things, it’s like we are literally back in that very moment. But that is not what is happening right at this very moment. You are “safe”. You are not back in time being harmed right now.
Is it wise to not trust her anymore if she has proven herself to be untrustworthy? Absolutely.
But in order to free yourself better, you have to first notice that you are time traveling. Then look at things in your environment. Not her, but try to take in all of the sensory input around you. Remind yourself that you are here, not there. Recognize that the only time that exists is right now. Even one second in the past no longer exists and even one second in the future doesn’t exist yet. Work with what is around you now.
Idk if that is at all helpful, just something that I have read about lately. Way fucking easier said than done because I still struggle.
Wishing you well.
This isn’t what you asked exactly, but I know they can externally disable a pacemaker once the patient is determined to be deceased so it will stop trying to shock the heart back. Otherwise it will continue to try to save the person.
