  • Idk…a lot of speed bumps I’ve come across are crazy violent. They aren’t sloped enough and instead project upwards very abruptly.

Obviously, not every speed bump is the same, but still.

I really would prefer for hidden speed bumps to not exist when I’m riding my motorcycle, for example, where that can be a rather dangerous “feature” of the road.

  • You were with me until the latter part. People aren’t hitting up a sit down restaurant when they want fast food because they want to get in and get out without having to leave their car.

I have a Chick Fil A literally a 2 minute walk from me. I go often because of convenience. I don’t have to wait in a long line in my car and because it’s one of the few fast food joints that offers healthier alternatives like grilled chicken nuggets, salads, fruit, sides of kale, etc. It’s not a common occurrence to have options like that at a fast food place. The Chick Fil A and Taco Bell are right next to each other, but I end up going to the Chick Fil A 9 times out of 10 over Taco Bell because of this.

I agree that it’s not worth going out of your way over. But it does have some big perks over other fast food joints.

My brother actually likes it there because they are one of the few fast food places that still have a play place for kids.

Edit: Huh, weird. I was trying to respond to the dude who said you should get a better sandwich from a bar instead.

  • Looks like it’s even weirder/more confusing. The F series isn’t actually the A series but rebranded.

The F series is actually a “rebrand” of the M series. It’s sold at a retailer called “Flipkart”. What the fuck is the M series then? No fucking clue. It’s supposedly different than the A series line. From skimming online, it seems like the M series for some reason have larger batteries, but are also cheaper(?), but randomly not supported as long as the A series.

So I think the M series is maybe like a shittier A series. And then the F series is literally identical to the M series except it’s sold by a retailer that starts with F.

    Man, shit is stupidly convoluted.

I know I’ll get downvoted for this, but…Lemmy and related are an “echo-chamber” of sorts. You’ll find that a vast amount of people “in the real world” don’t share this sort of imminently apocalyptic mentality. I really mean no offense in my phrasing and I’m not trying to shit on anyone here. It’s just the way things are.

I remember being almost surprised at how “normal” life was when I first moved to a place that had polar opposite political views than me. Life went on…in mostly the same way it did when I was surrounded by people who mostly shared my ideologies. Life goes on…especially in the western world. Even in different parts of the US, it’s a far cry from some place like Somalia or Iran or Israel/Palestine or North Korea.

Idk. Sorry I got a bit rambly. Suffice to say that I don’t think you’re ever going to find what you seek.

  • I echo others in that I don’t personally feel like it will “go away”.

But I guess I view it kind of like I view trauma and grief. It will still always be there, but you can build your life outward from there so that it feels less significant with time. It might still bring you back and catch you off guard some days with how strong it will feel, even if you think you’ve “moved past” it. But you can get through it. Time and living life will help to make that a comparatively smaller part.

    Best of luck.

  • I’ve never had the ability to feel sexual pleasure, unfortunately. Was a confusing time growing up. It also sometimes makes me really feel like I’m missing out. When all media revolves around sex and you can’t even feel pleasure from masturbation, it feels like you’re missing something from the core human experience. Sometimes it has made me feel like a different species.

I guess at least for me, I “don’t know what I’m missing” because I’ve never experienced it. I’m sorry that you know what it feels like so that it’s more painful when you can’t anymore.

Has anything changed in your life recently?
