Do I need to install the desktop env when installing a distro or do I need to install blank Linux and install a clean desktop env later? Thank you! 😃👌

If you’re asking this question at all, I’d say you’re probably not ready for a minimal installation without a desktop environment but it’s totally possible.

I’d recommend just going with a normal distro and installing a desktop environment from the get-go as that will be the easiest way to get Linux set up.

Take this advice, especially if you are just starting with Linux. You can also install it in a VM if you are still running Windows, to get a feeling of different desktop environments (Gnome, xfce, KDE, etc) before choosing.
