I don’t really care about fad stuff so I never bought any but also I never really understood how they worked practically. Like if I bought a famous tweet or jpg or what ever, how would I use the token to verify owner ship of the thing or sell it?

Slightly off-topic, but the only kind of interesting use for an NFT I ever encountered was my Master’s degree. The diploma was issued as a pdf that is also an NFT. There is a university website you can upload it to and it says “yup this is a real diploma” which in theory means the digital is as good as the physical.
So 99.9% of the time they were a scam but it was ALL worth it to have grad admissions committees tell me “neat but you will need to send us the paper copy anyway”
NFTs actually have some niche purposes. They could even be used for cool stuff. But the internet’s perception is of a smoking monkey jpeg and it’s so silly.
I think they’ll eventually find some purpose and just exist without much conversation.
