Has the Kirk family tried accepting that some shootings are an acceptable cost for the freedom to own guns?
Attorneys for Kirk’s family alleged additional lapses by officials, including not conducting an adequate risk assessment before approving the event, failing to establish a secure perimeter and having no first responders immediately available, resulting in Kirk being taken to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle rather than an ambulance after he was shot.
Shameless attempt at a money-grab. They’re really complaining that there was no ambulance on site? So where-ever he was supposed to speak there should’ve always been one? Insanity.
Now, one could argue that there should’ve been someone with proper first aid training on site, but even then, he was hit in the neck artery - with the sniper still up there, even if security had been swift, I don’t think anyone could’ve saved him except if they had blood bags for transfusion readily available.
I doubt transfusions would be enough. Only way someone survives that injury is by getting shot in the neck next to a fully prepped OR with a team of surgeons, and even then it’s unlikely. The major vessels in the neck transport so much blood that an IV simply doesn’t flow enough if one of them ruptures and the bleeding can’t be stopped.
In other words, they probably want to get some quick bux threatening University with lawsuit
Yeah, it clearly was not the sniper….
No university should need to prepare for sniper fire in a “first world” country.
