I don’t know if this helps at all, but you actually don’t need to buy a new drive! You can install Linux next to Windows on the same drive, it works perfectly fine.
(You will need something to put the installer on though, and USB sticks do cost money, so.)
yeah would be great if that was my particular thing. I overwrote windows and use an older machine for windows currently. I will need a new drive but I don’t really want to go into details with the niche thing im doing. Im actually moving from an ubuntu child distro to bazzite. a big issue was how appimages would work and I thought I had a big issue until I finally realized its an issue with how google does chrome. its looking good. taking a sit down before I finish it off. the chrome issue seems to be fixed by killing various caches it keeps btw (or for someone who comes across this and kinda has the same issue).
