26 days agoCSRF protection is a security feature not bot prevention. A bot would just need to get a token first.

Nope they all use the public API. Even the default Lemmy web client.
It’s not just native Apps. Alternative web UIs like Thunder, Photon and Voyager need them too.
Mobile Apps need an API too.

People like you are the reason why instances like lemm.ee shut down. Expecting the best service for nothing and be the loudest when something you don’t like happens.
Instance providers and admins don’t owe you anything.
