And I’ll do it again. 😆
/u/outwrangle before everything went to shit in 2020, /u/emma_lazarus for a while after that, now I’m all queermunist!

And I’ll do it again. 😆

No, the 2nd amendment exists so that slave owners could kill runaway slaves and settlers could be help kill off the indigenous population.

Plastic is a hard problem to solve since meaningfully recycling most of it requires a expensive energy and chemical inputs.
Also, I’m running into some weird math. Doing some light searching, China’s plastic consumption demand will reach a peak at 119 million tons in 2030. That means their recycling target will be able to meet 16% of total plastic demand in China, but for comparison, China recycles 17% of it’s plastic today. I doubt China is aiming for plastic recycling to remain about the same if it’s supposed to be a new national target - I guess they might not be looking to increase the percentage of recycled plastic and are only interested in keeping up with demand? Or, probably likely, something is wrong with my sources because I can’t get behind paywalls. 🤷♀️

That’s kind of like saying that your untreated cancer was fine a year ago because you were healthy for the most part.

Now I want to see someone recreate this scene with one of the hallucination machines.

Well that’s what Trump said, right? We can’t have universal child care, Medicare, or Medicaid because we have to pay for war.

Also, high helium prices making chip production more expensive.

And yet they don’t.
Yeah, they could do that. AI writers are so fucking lazy that they don’t even bother.

I read “so many were happy” as implying something larger than an slim majority - not a 5 point margin that immediately shrank.
And there’s a clear difference between Israel losing support and Hamas gaining support, so I’m not sure why you’re bringing that up. It’s not like Democrats had to come out in support of Hamas or Palestinian resistance to capture the growing anti-genocide movement’s votes. All they needed to do was stop giving military support to Israel once the tide turned a few months into the war.
Democrats chose to lose because they’d rather not be in the government than be forced to turn their backs on Israel. The only fix I see for the problem is new blood in the party - the old guard have to go, because they’d rather die than stop supporting Israel.

But my guess would be because so many in the US were happy with retailiatory genocide and it took quite a long time and many Palestinian deaths for their opinions to shift (which has finally now happened)
This isn’t really true. Only a month after the Al-Aqsa Flood, support for Israel was 50% among all USAmericans and only 36% among Democrats. That tells us the Democratic base was opposed to the genocide almost from the very beginning, and though it took the rest of the US a little longer by the following March a majority of Americans opposed it.
The function of the Democratic party is to demobilize and discipline their base, not actually represent them or their interests.

There was a period from '09-'10 when he could have basically done whatever he wanted. Democrats controlled the government and Obama came in on a wave of popular support after Bush was blamed for crashing the economy. Instead of bringing about the change he promised, though, he allowed himself to be stopped and chose compromise instead of change.
Then the Republicans took back their lost seats in 2010 because he lost support for his compromises.

Because they’re cowards.

“Bone apple tea” is nonsense.
“Stepping foot” literally describes what is happening, just with a different wording.
It’s like the difference between calling a “ladybug” a “ladybird” - it’s basically just regional dialect.

Hey, is it good for our global food system that we’re having an energy crisis on top of a “super” el niño? Seems bad.

This is human trafficking.

They aren’t winning in Iran. Why is that?
But that’s hard, and blaming voters is much easier!
