If you really want to know something hasn’t been tampered with though, look into git. You can use it raw or with something like VS Studio . Git can let you pgp sign stuff so you can know with certainty you made the change… unless you pgp key was compromised. Your changes (“commits”) would be signed and time stamped. You can keep files locally or send to a git forge (github, gitlab, forgejo).

I think the general problem with such things is… they post a lot of shit. Sure the top content within a community -might- be interesting but you’re also going to get pointless junk that just fills up the fediverse. Not to mention the other issues with lack of interaction. I think the unfortunate reality is that the long term best thing for the community is hand curating content and posting it yourself. I say unfortunate because that’s more work than a bot, but you’ll be better able to grow a community. Plus some people like me will just block any bot i see because they generally are a waste of my time

When i was a teen this happened to me. The date was arranged by a family friend with his nieces plus me and my friend to make it a double blind date. We decided to take the girls out to a cheap fast food place and pocket the rest of the money that was given to us. Except the girls ended up both being really cool so we agreed to go bowling after dinner. I kept in touch with one of them for a few years and we went out a few more times on our own.

LLMs hallucinate and are generally willing to go down rabbit holes. so if you have some crazy theory then you’re more likely to get a false positive from a chatgpt.

So i think it just exacerbates things more than alternatives
