im happy Microsoft dumped all their chips into AI. gonna be fantastic when it goes sideways

chin up, friend! 👑

this is not the first time the world feels bleak, and it won’t be the last. chin up, king! 🤴

people are busy and have lives. I used to think like you in my early 20s, but then my life got supercomplicated years later and I became the person I loathed… I finally understood

its a fantastic idea. it allows for someone to stay on the platform of their choice while not being locked out of communicating with other people. if my family likes mastodon and I like lemmy, we can still share things… awesome!!
it was great when Twitter and Facebook had it during the beginning of their rise in the late 2000s, shame they decided locking in users to their platform was a better choice. at least we dont have to be on those platforms anymore 🙂

SLOPERATOR, thanks for this hahaha

those are the insane people calling others names lol. at least the different opinions are on this platform

I guess we found the answer to how the original person i was replying to can validate anything thats generated by an LLM: looking up sources that an LLM claims to use

not sure if only the paid gpt actually cites, but anyone thats trying to show someone else how inefficient LLMs are with data should be able to come to the conclusion the output is untrustworthy if you’re getting 404 errors after asking to cite, in my opinion

have the AI cite it sources for the claims it makes, and read through those sources. ask the AI what information it used in the source to come up with its statement.
using chatGPT in this way is like how I used Wikipedia growing up: just pull up an article on something, check out what citations an article had, and walk it backwards from there

great step forward, lets see if this can be implemented elsewhere (it won’t, but im allowed to dream)

I think its a mixture of lazy and inexperience.
I believe if someone in a position of authority who understands how vital E2EE is in order for the internet to work, this suggestion wouldn’t even be on the table.
its a case of just kicking destroying E2EE down the road for another generation to deal with, I believe. not sure what the solution is, either

+1 for yunohost from me. its how I stood up my first instance for the fediverse and self hosting.
I think its very easy to comprehend and is a great way to join the fediverse on hardware you manage

Netflix doesn’t disclose numbers (usually), but I remember Nielsen asking me a couple of years ago to start tracking my Netflix usage. maybe stay tuned to the next fight and see what they report lol

money is the root of all evil
gold has a lot of useful properties that are not simply “shiny and heavy” though. the same can be said for all other metals

once again, America last lol
now you sound like Sylvester the cat lol
