I made the switch a while ago and I’m much happier with the result. It’s far from perfect, but it’s free from the jankiness and random bullshit that comes with a Google product. At least you know what you’re getting with Apple. And the hardware is far superior and is supported for a long time.

I use the browser all the time, but tbh they really don’t need to offer it. Safari with Wipr2 is perfectly good. I just use Orion on my work laptop as a separation of work vs personal.

This always works out for the best. Making fewer people work harder always produces better results! Nothing could possibly go wrong with this winning strategy.

I haven’t tried it, but I would think that running something shitty like a Roku but gating it with a pi-hole would be reasonable. You just have to make sure that there’s no open networks within reach (neighbors, etc).

Thus TiVo maintained their position as market leader, despite having an inferior experience.

All this to say: fuck you TiVo, you wasted your brand clout and position by getting into bed with the same lawmakers who fomented your demise when the HD era was legislated to ban commercial-skipping mechanisms.

Having spent a decent amount of time in Germany (but not integrating into society): what about it is shit? From an outsider’s perspective, you guys seem to have it mostly together. This is a deadly ignorant take. If every home has 2 EVs to charge, it won’t make enough of a difference to matter. It’s like leaving on extra lights. Residential solar panels are cheap and only getting cheaper.
