I feel it’s been getting better. Like, it isn’t perfectly smooth, but I like what I get on the Frontpage way more than what I did with Spotify.

I think the Card that has held up the longest (still in use, currently in some Raspberry Pi) is one from SiliconPower. Also, some Samsung 128 and 256 cards (from their Endurance Series I think) that I gave away to a friend who uses them in her camera.

I gotta admit I don’t really care. Back when I used MicroSD Cards in my phone, they kept dying, and even midrange phones now have more internal storage then I need.

In theory, maybe. In practice, I’ve had a lot of errors in that vein that very much wouldn’t go away, and where made much harder to diagnose by their obtuseness.

Honestly, I even dislike the mindset. Just make a big header with the generic error message and a little one below that gives some details. Having users interested in how your software works is not a bad thing.

That’s bullshit, I’m good friends with several ex-partners. Might not work for some people, but definitely not a general rule.

I’ve used parts from my old PC for my Homeserver. Among other things, it runs Jellyfin. Most of my library can be directly played by most clients, so I need almost no transcoding. Just serving the media uses tiny amounts of ram and compute, and the only bottleneck I could see is a residential Internet connection (I’ve got symmetrical gigabit, but there’s lots of residential gigabit that limits uploads to like 50mpbs).

My last phone lasted 5 years till the display broke. Had to switch the battery once, but nothing else gave out. My current one gets 8 years of updates, and I plan on using it till then, as long as nothing unexpected happens.
