Well someone is already deciding based on the ability to get a security clearance. And if being “Don citizen” and not able to get a security clearance at all, how should that person be allowed an office that needs a Top Secret clearance level?
Also it shouldn’t be up to Trump, or anyone he appoints (or that any president appoints).
I think because Elon can let him run whatever he wants on Twitter unchecked (disinformation or whatever), and because Elon is all in on grifting crypto bros that Trump is hoping to pull in for their votes before they notice the con.

The thing you have to remember about a cult is that nobody seeks them out, and nobody knows they are in a cult until it is to late. These are people that got caught up in something they saw someplace online likely, and once they started down the rabbit hole it was to late to go back. And the like most all cults, Trump actively reinforces that everyone outside of the cult is a danger to those inside the cult, and that leaving is to dangerous to themselves, loved ones, America. And from the outside it’s easy to see they are being fed lies non-stop and nothing Trump says is true, but inside the cult bubble the lies and conspiracies are reinforced constantly, and the “threat” is always increasing.

Correct, it’s going to take a mass therapist program to help bring these people back to reality because they have been conditioned against looking outside the cult for almost 9 years now. Trump isn’t going to go away and they just deprogram overnight, this is going to be a long term issue for the US going forward.

I think the main driver behind people misinformed about AI content comes from the fact that outside of tech people, most have no idea that AI will:
100% make up answers to things it doesn’t know because either the sample size of data they have ingested was to small or was bad. And it will do this with the same robot confidence you get for any other answer.
AI that has been fed to much other AI generated content will begin to “hallucinate” and give some wild outputs, very similar to humans suffering from schizophrenia. And again these answers will be given as “fact” with the same robotic confidence.
Saw a video with a clip from a podcast last night where a guy called in because his father-in-law wouldn’t apply for the FEMA money in NC because he believed Trump and his conspiracy theories and thought if he applied they would take his house. The son-in-law lives across the country and didn’t know what to do, as his father-in-law is sending messages to family stating that he has no food or supplies and doesn’t know what to do. But this same man said he believes Trump and would not under any circumstances except any aid from the government. They tried send him articles from FEMA and fact checkers debunking Trump’s lies, but the man is part of Trump’s cult and is waiting on Trump to save him.
If you are that polarized you need a brain brother, things are not black and white as you try to put them. But i got you, its the easy way “with me or against me”, that’s the kind of thinking of a true dictator
How is one supposed to read that and not see it as a call to stop picking on the fascists because things “are not black and white”? And that calling out a fascist trying to destroy American democracy as taking the easy way of “with me or against me”. And you stated that you think calling out a wanna be dictator is “thinking like a true dictator” because we apparently aren’t just giving him a free pass. And I didn’t say you were a Nazi, you did. I just said you seem to see yourself on the side of the fascists, and a call out of them is somehow a call out of you.
Also seeing this want to be fascist doing things absolutely should be called out every single time, because when people stop calling them out they become normalized. And when they become normalized, suddenly things like tracking women’s period cycles and charting their travel isn’t “out of the ordinary”. Things like banning porn and running weird apps on all family devices so that everyone gets an alert when someone watches porn so they can be turned in seems common. With the end result being we are living under a full-on Christofascist dictator very much resembling the Handmaid’s Tale. And if this were to happen, 0% chance is stays contained to the US, and that the US wouldn’t allow the Dictators of the world free reign on everything outside our borders. All they need do is give Trump compliments and he’ll sell out everyone.
So you’re saying we should give the fascists a chance because maybe they aren’t going to do exactly what their 900 page manifesto says they plan on doing? Do you think the world was too hard on Hitler too? I honestly don’t see how you can “both sides” a fascist in good faith, so I have to assume you have already chosen your side as the one being attacked here. I think Americans dont understand that at this point everything that comes out about

That’s how I read that.
Trump knows the transaction behind it, he trades the democracy/freedoms of the US to the christofascists in exchange for being the “dear leader” the playbook helps consolidate power around. He can then squash all his legal problems and ride out his days LARPing being Putin until his dementia becomes an issue and the party “retires” him.
They just used the same playbook they used for Thomas’s confirmation. They all knew he was unfit for the job, but the “donors” calling the shots had already paid his way and that he would do whatever the party wanted.

Trump is currently controlling the largest cult outside of religion in the US. His core is going to take a long time to deprogram enough to return to society when he finally stops getting a platform to mobilize them all. Some of them were awful people before Trump, but so many everyday people got pulled into the cult through Fox or Facebook or Twitter and their conditioning keeps them loyal.
I think contrary to at least some cult leaders, Trump has nothing but absolute disgust for his followers, and uses them solely to get him power and to grift so he can afford to keep the machine of hate going.
He only wants to be a dictator for a day, because after that his fascist government will refer to him as “Dear Leader” and all dissent will be met with force.
So basically academics finding people to fund a large scale lab experiment, they want to get working by 2030. It sounds like they sold Google on an idea (for funding) and now have to move their idea from the lab to the real world. It does sound safer than water cooled plants of old at least.
