It’s two separate issues. A single person shouldn’t be able to pour that much money to influence an election. At the same time the justice system should have more teeth against the rich who openly break laws.

Could be a case of them interviewing a lot of people. Keep in mind a lot of people go on vacation this time of year and depending on the company/industry it could also mean this is peak season for them. I wouldn’t look too much into it.

I agree, it’s a useful feature for certain people. I’m just not a big fan of site admins making the decision for you. It should only be used as a last resort IMO or to protect yourself against illegal content, CP for example. Normalizing defederation between instances can be abused by a small amount of bad faith actors. If you as a person don’t like a certain culture on an instance or community, just block it yourself.

No one is obligated to do anything. The admins run the site and they can moderate how they feel. As a user, I can join their site or another one if I choose to.

My opinion of defederating is that it should only be used as a last resort. Taking a liberal approach to defederation means that a small amount of bad faith actors can completely shut down an instance and make it a pariah on the fediverse.

It doesn’t, except for the ones who like to browse local. And the .world admins have quite a few blocked instances. They seem to be a bit too liberal in defederating to my tastes. I feel as if it runs against the concept of federation itself.

.world is the instance where most new users default to so and it has the highest user base and that includes a lot of trolls or just bad faith actors. Also, a lot of .world is based from reddit users who left and they brought that kind of mindset along. Some people don’t like that either.

Because the rich control an overwhelming amount of the media we consume. They are capable of shaping the narrative to their benefit.

My PC has a secondary HDD that has my files. Movies, books, comics, TV shows, random stuff, etc. It’s more or less organized in their own folders.

I use the stair machine regularly after a workout. Not all the time, but often. It’s very exhausting. I have a fitness watch and my heart rate is in the 170s for the majority of it.

I find it really helped my leg muscles develop better. Especially my thighs and the muscles connecting to the knee.

For those of you unaware, Doug Ford is a shitbag of a human being who only does things when it’s of personal benefit to himself. He hates Toronto with a passion ever since his druggie of a brother, who was mayor of Toronto, got busted doing drugs (which was an open secret) and ended up dying from health complications. He tried to run for his brothers seat but Toronto essentially told him to fuck off. He then ran for Premier and won and one of the first things he did as Premier was to slash the Toronto city council by half as a gigantic middle finger to them. He seems to enjoy screwing over Toronto because of how petty he is. Oh and did I mention that Doug used to sell crack to teenagers before he became a politician?

The escalations we’re going to see over the coming months were going to happen with a Republican as President or Democrat. The past 13 months has shown Israel can get away with virtually whatever they want. They were never intending on stopping regardless of the outcome of the election.

Well it’s not like Biden/Harris actually tried for a ceasefire. There’s really not much change other than the quiet part being said out loud.

This isn’t about them. A disproportionate amount of women are victims of violence, sexual assault, and rape. Their safety should take priority over the feelings of others. If a man actually sympathizes with this they wouldn’t have their self esteem take a hit and would instead understand why actions like this are necessary as we work to address this issue in our society.
