Bees went fucking nuts for my lupine, even while living in an urban environment. Only problem was that the aphids did too. So many that it was revolting. I had to aggressively remove them every single day of the colonies would explode and destroy my lupine within a very short time. They’d suck it dry.

I’m still afraid to switch to Linux because I’ve used Windows since i was a kid with Windows 95. It’s gotten progressively worse, and I’m still reluctantly camped out on Windows 10, but the thought of firing up a new operating system and going back to being a confused adolescent who doesn’t know how to get around (with or without accidentally making an older woman crouching in red lingerie the desktop wallpaper on my family computer and then denying any knowledge of it) makes me really uneasy.

Please, Linux whisperers. Calm my woes. 😓

In the meantime, I managed to find a good customer equalizer setting that boosts the volume a fair bit. Just hard to work out the more tinny parts of the sound.

Hosting is half of it, but the user-submitted section is a thriving social ecosystem. It’s a lot like reddit or Lemmy, but all submissions are image-based only with sizable comment sections attached like anywhere else. I was very involved there 12 years back and enjoyed it quite a lot. I tried really hard to earn my green (highest karma) badge, but I believe I got second or third highest before running out of steam. You had a profile full of badges and stuff, and users actually valued karma there, unlike on reddit or Lemmy.

But the mood changed other time and it became a hub for bullshit, sob stories and very tired, very played-out jokes. Then the eventual UI changes drove the nail in the coffin and I found it unusable.

Junimos ain’t fixin’ that one, brother…

I don’t know if this will age like my previous belief that PS1 had photo-realistic graphics, but I feel like 4k is the peak for TVs. I recently bought a 65" 4k TV and not only is it the clearest image I’ve ever seen, but it takes up a good chunk of my livingroom. Any larger would just look ridiculous.

Unless the average person starts using abandoned cathedrals as their livingrooms, I don’t see how larger TVs with even higher definition would even be practical. Especially if you consider we already have 8k for those who do use cathedral entertainment systems.

It’s like one of those comments you type out half-asleep on the toilet some mornings before stopping yourself and asking, “Why the fuck am I even saying this?”, before deleting it and going back to lurking. Except he didn’t delete.

It has to be ego. I set my ego aside constantly and try to be open minded, and I am very open minded, but sometimes in privacy it’s just so goddamn big for no fucking reason… Like when rehashing a 10-year-old argument in the shower.

Imagine your local movie ninja leaves you the portable DVD player beneath the usual log at the edge of town. You bundle it up inside of your goods and inconspicuously bring it home. That night you gather your husband and three children to partake in the wonder that is western cinema. You blow out a few candles and remove a small brick from the hearth, retrieving the portable player from within and popping in your two counterfeit Enjerjizer D-cell batteries. There in the gloom of your commonspace the disc whirrs to life, and the gentle glow of the Morbius menu screen illuminates the faces of your awe-stricken children. It is like magic.

The following afternoon you kneel solemnly in the town square, looking down at their bodies. The distant croon of a raven can be heard.

I’ve heard The Walking Dead comics are actually quite solid, and differ substantially from the TV series. I’d love to see a faithful animation adaptation done in comic-style art.

I try to, but I never actually reach unconsciousness until I inevitably get cold and pull the sheets or blanket over my body to some degree. I find that on particularly hot nights, it’s enough to drape a sheet over my waist, so long as my feet are outside.
