Yeah, no voice chat is a bummer. I haven’t tried, but my first instinct was, that’s a VM right there.

If you can make a bubble out of crypto and sub-prime mortgages, quantum computing is a doddle, though I’d bet it comes after compute as a service using all those datacentres (some of which will even get built).
Problem is the AI burst is very likely to take out the US economy (and do bad things to the rest of the world), the home of these scams. But I’m sure some shareholder value was ‘created’.

Here’s hoping this gets more software off the discord support teat. No, you do not need real time chat, you need searchable, permanent presence. Discord support is such a red flag I immediately move on even if it’s OSS. If you can’t do real doco and you can’t stand up a forum (Discourse is nice I hear) then what chance do you have of being competent.
Also, IPO incoming, expect it to get worse.

Over my cold, dead hands. Fuck you and your shitty worldview,

Better be. Also, fuck chrome.

Yah, their fallacy is false dichotomy.

Tobacco industry take two.
Yay! Capitalism!

More like I’ll spy on your people, you spy on mine (which is illegal / unpopular for me), swapsies.

First against the wall.

And it’s also insanely expensive to get the proper hardware to drive it at full resolution.
The shame being 8K (as 2x4K or even more) is awesome for VR headsets, but the only things capable of really driving them are stupidly expensive (thanks NVIDIA) or dual card setups (thanks Mobo producers for making that bad, and CPU manufacturers who insist consumers only need 20-24 PCIe lanes to artificially segment the market, sigh).

How about 5000 $200 books written by their own AI (preferably for free, cheapest printing in existence) ?

I’m not going to dive in there at the moment, correct me if I’m wrong (the ‘the problem would get fixed up and things would keep going about like before’ case I suppose).
To answer OP’s question, basically the same thing that happened last time an inconsistency was found, Russel’s paradox, which, to massively simplify, was add a new axiom that says you can’t do that and carry on. (Which gave rise to the aforementioned ZFC set theory). Working math is still going to work in any case.

TLDW: cooling’s fine if you use starlink V2 size and power (which is not very suitable for AI ‘datacentre’ use) because it works already.
This is not about a few huge datacentres, it’s about a million small ones. There’s 99 problems with this (see Kessler syndrome !, radiation, …), cooling isn’t (much of) one.
Doesn’t matter anyway, it just has to be vaguely plausible for a stock IPO pump (and dump) scheme while sweeping all that xAI debt under the rug.

It is however refreshing to see any politician anywhere resign for gross misbehavior. Shame is all too much a thing of the past for these bastards.
Pretty sure RAM and C/GPU use different fabs (and wafers) thankfully. If some fuck goes and corners the market of CPU wafers we’re all doomed. The RAMpocalypse is actually likely to free up processor fab space if it prices phones such as they sell less.
Of course the margin on AI compute will be better, so suck it consumers.
