When I ran dual boot I kept windows on a separate disk to my mint install. I unplugged the mint disk when ever I wanted to boot windows.
Still had the clock issue of course.

Other half had a Peugeot 206. Thing was an economic write off at 10 years old with barely 100,000 kms on the odometer. Endless problems every service, high chance of stranding you. Interior falling apart, paint peeling off etc. Quality control must have been non existent.
Worst car I’ve ever driven would be a 2021 Mitsubishi outlander hire car. The way it handled corners felt downright dangerous, weak engine with awful CVT. Average park bench has more comfort than the seats. Sometimes in my career I get a feeling of imposter syndrome, but I can look at a car like the outlander and say thank fuck I’m not at daft as the arseholes responsible for that abomination.
Google consistently routes people to make a right turn across an unsignalised dual carriageway near me. (Australia, we drive on the left).
This right turn is so prone to crashes that every single weekday morning and afternoon there will be multiple tow trucks just waiting for a crash.
To avoid this intersection and turn right on to the dual carriageway at a location with traffic lights is only a matter of driving less than 1km in either direction on a parallel side street. Yet Google tells people to go past the traffic lights to make this turn. Idiocy.
identical environment.
if I tap out words, then they will appear as i hit each letter. if i use swipe, then i get no preview of the word, the word just appears after i lift off and touch another key.
very annoying, cant live without gesture/swipe typing.
Australian here. Halloween.
Ours didn’t get to stay home, but they weren’t allowed outside at lunch the other week when it was over 40. Lucky for them the school has air con in all buildings.
Not having all the silly teenager / young adult bits of their lives documented in videos for all to see.
They can be forced to stay home when it gets too hot instead.
On my gaming PC: I had a lot of random boots to black screen. (Vega 56 GPU)
USB ports did not function at all with USB drives.
TF2 had terrible performance compared to windows.
There was no way to configure my sound card settings.
I still run Ubuntu + kodi on my HTPC, have done for about 10 years. Updating versions of either can often lead to time spent in the terminal. Usually nvidia gpu related. So far the issues have been overcome.
This (outsourcing) was already done 20 years ago in my industry. WFH changes nothing.
Indeed it would be. I’ve recently degoogled by installing Graphene on my phone too.
I’d never really used my gmail account for email or calendar previously anyway as I never liked it from the start. It’s just what my android’s have been tied to.
I recently tried to get away from outlook as my primary email / calendar. Tried a couple of different providers only to discover just how reliant I am on having seamless calendar invites.
Manually attaching .ICS files to email was not going to cut it. No matter how good caldav is for my phone to desktop, I need to easily make events / respond to them.
I’ve given Neo a shot. Hasn’t got as many features sadly. The main one I miss is infinite scroll through home screens.
Majority of people here descended from people who arrived well after the colonists. About a third of us were born overseas. Around half have a parent born overseas.
I’ve tried a few times in the past but always come crawling back to windows for gaming.
Last time it was terrible performance in TF2 that did it, this was after battling against fstab, drivers for my sound card and GPU. Oh and USB drives also refused to work.
Next PC build I’ll give dual booting another shot. Will certainly try to get hardware that others have reported as working.
I still run Ubuntu with Kodi on my HTPC and that’s usually good.
I’ll be very surprised if our govt does anything positive when it comes to digital rights. The current shower of arseholes in government supported the previous even bigger shower of arseholes to pass diabolical legislation like data retention and assistance and access bills.
The YouTube music algorithm is a pile of shit. It always wants to lead you to more well known stuff. It’s like you are only ever as few related tracks away from top 50 pop.
I have one of those keyboards too. The track pad on it is way better than others I have tried.
For controlling kodi though I mostly use Kore from a phone.
Partner has the z flip4 and is very happy with it.
Although the folding mechanism on the first one seized up. When it was forced open, the pixels on the crease turned off.
Took it back to the retailer and they swapped it on the spot. They were out of 256GB versions, so they provided the 512GB one instead. As the price of them had dropped a lot since purchase, the store gave $250 cash back for the difference.
No users.
A bunch of those lemmit online communities.
A few other communities that tend to mostly just be identity politics arguments.
