I take your money.
I make a show of returning a fraction of what I took.
Look how generous I am!

“We, as the DNC, need to be seen as a body that can be trusted, that’s not putting its thumb on the scales,” a DNC member told Politico. “We have to be so strategic and careful with our resources right now. … So why are we in this circular firing squad against Democrats?”
Which side of the debate is this person trying to support?
If the DNC wants to be seen as trustworthy and not putting its thumb on the scales against its constituents economic interests, then it makes sense to try to repair the broken parts of the party that are largely seen as untrustworthy and favoring the donor class over the people who vote for Democrats.
So why are the corporate Dems shooting their own party in the foot by resisting changes to the failed status-quo?
Running a scream test for a scrappy small business on a shoestring budget is sensible.
USA should have better options.
USA was made by oligarchs, for oligarchs. That’s the entire purpose of a Republic.
I’m curious about the orbital parameters of the companion galaxies. Maybe we’re just looking at them during a period of conjunction? Like if you look at our Solar System, sometimes all of the planets are on the same side of the sun.
Just like Lemmy more.
Reddit gave me a temp ban, but I declined their generous offer to return after a week.
I had reported a post by some far-right religious fundamentalist for promoting political violence. Reddit told me that reporting ToS-breaking content is a bannable offense, perhaps because the far-right owners of reddit feel like kindred spirits to the uber-conservative terrorist sympathizer that got reported.
IP law itself is a band-aid over capitalism’s disincentivizing of humanity’s innate tendency toward ingenuity, innovation, and iteration
public domain is the default - its IP law and the artificial scarcity it creates which is useful to the capitalists
Supporting their constituents in the class war is presented as an afterthought, as usual from the corporate Democrats, and this congresscritters proposal is just the standard right-wing, milquetoast, failed Democratic policy that got us into this mess.
There are over 100 million people without a home in USA, and this guy thinks housing 10% of them will be sufficient. He won’t even say a number when it comes to minimum wage. Three fifths of the proposal is just masturbatory lust for power.
The short answer is “no”.
The long answer is “noooooooooooooo.”
Taxes at the Federal level don’t pay for goods or services. Creating new money is how the Feds pay for stuff.
Federal taxes just delete money from target populations.
The Axis Unseen is about hunting (while being hunted by) cryptids from a large variety of mythologies.
What’s Tatars precious?
I wonder if its a result of the topography of spacetime? Like, if we were to assume the universe is toroidial, and then superimpose a coordinate system over the torus where each point on the grid is one Plank-legnth from its neighbors, I wonder if the distance between grid squares would look bigger at the outside edge of the torus than in the central funnel? If Earth were near the center, then when we look outward/backward we’d observe objects apparent acceleration outward even though from the perspective of those objects themselves they are jumping from grid square to grid square at a constant rate.

Right now, 500 million Europeans are begging 300 million Americans for protection from 140 million Russians who have been unable to overcome 50 million Ukrainians for three years.

Its the students themselves who are criminally conservative, in addition to the schools administrative hierarchy promoting far-right neo-feudalism and calling it capitalism.
Rape, assault, and battery are the accepted norm among the Harvard student body.
