Out of the blue, my google speech to text has become absolutely terrible at recognition and has completely stopped adding punctuation marks comma typing them out instead period
Anyone else getting this?
Retrained it, updated, deleted, updated again, nothing works, my Google stt is largely useless now.
Is there an alternative anyone is using?
Just replace it with Transcribro.

On a side note, are you sure your microphone hasn’t gotten clogged with any crud or liquid or anything? Try calling a friend and ask them if your voice sounds clear or if its muffled or anything weird…
I did call some people and checked the mic yesterday, i didn’t see anything and i had several conversations without an issue.

Oh, I should mention, that Futo Voice doesn’t integrate seamlessly with Google Keyboard, so you’ll probably also want to install Futo Keyboard as well. You won’t be disappointed either, as Google also logs everything you type, for ‘user experience’…

Wow, problem absolutely solved. Thanks. I kind of wish I could speak out the pronunciation instead of adding it automatically, but don’t see the option. Do you know if there is one?
Still, this is very accurate and really is great! Definitely happy to be moving a bit further away from Google.
Honestly I have hardly used Futo Voice much beyond simple testing by reciting some poems I’ve memorized over the years, and it really is impressive how well it works! Sorry I don’t know all that much about the available settings though.
I have a feeling though that the Futo Keyboard won’t have such an option to ‘speak out the pronunciation’ as you say, as whatever Google does on that end is uploading your voice to their servers for AI processing.
No sweat, I can live with this. It still works great. And look at that, a comma where I wanted it to be.

Someone tried and liked Dictation Daddy. It’s not foss but can do the job and play store shows no ads.
