Funny how Brazil magically doesn’t have the same problems with jailing the fascist president who attempted a coup that america has. They must have one of those constitutions without respect for norms and procedures /s

Brazil is like a small version of the United States. It’s one of the most unequal economy in the world. A very small group of rich families control the entire Brazilian economy. There is a very powerful Christian Evangelical movement that denies climate change. There is a TV channel (Globo) that is basically a corporate empire. The Brazilian Congress was violently stormed after a hard-right candidate denied the results of an election.

      But the comparison stops here.

Brazilians take their democracy seriously. They are taking the former President to court for planning a coup. They told Elon Musk his businesses must respect the law or they will shut them down. The billionaire screamed like an animal. He insulted them. He ended up complying. The naive Europeans are still asking “respect the law Elon, please please, or we will give you a fine”. They don’t understand the game has changed.

Now the US publically targets Brazil. Because I think President Trump sees himself in the events in Brazil. The Brazilian Evangelicals are also asking the US Evangelical movement for help.
