Oh that’s not entirely true. Putin has shifted the goalposts so many times now that his objectives can be whatever he wants them to be. This way he can never fail to meet them. Failed push to Kyiv? No stupid westoids, he just wanted to show that he could absolutely take it if he wanted to and only withdrew as a sign of good will. Kherson? Never heard of her. Bakhmut? Only took them a year to take and basically lost the ukrops the war which we will totally see any day now. Just trust the Führer

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Volodymyr Zelensky has admitted his country’s counter-offensive against Russian troops in eastern Ukraine has failed to meet its objectives.

His remarks emerged yesterday amid increased pressure on the Kyiv government to enter peace talks with Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

Mr Zelensky, whose wartime leadership has been likened to Winston Churchill, admitted Ukraine’s attempt to force a Russian retreat had not achieved ‘the desired results’.

At the same time Western support for the conflict has appeared to fragment, with allies questioning the cost of high-tech weapons and equipment.

In recent months international leaders, such as Rishi Sunak and Joe Biden, have been distracted by the Middle Eastern conflict.

These increases have produced results on the battlefield, with his troops making significant advances into Ukrainian territory along the 621-mile front line.

No shit sherlock, thanks to the west for their promptness to deliver and capacity for strategy foresight…

The stalemate is intentional from us, westerners we have the capacity, we’re just not so much concerned (read: weapons delivered to Ukraine sold well in other markets but not by a big enough margin to justify the financial risk of helping a country that might disappear and not ever pay back.)
