“teenage hamas adjacent terrorist runs into shrapnel; dies by his own actions” /s

edit: good points in the replies-- should have added /s because people say this unironically

See I think the problem is that I can’t tell if you’re making fun of the obvious bias of newspaper headlines and articles, or the teenager who just died… Because it’s the kind of thing the IDF would unironically say.

A great alternative to “unironically,” is “seriously.” I say this unironically, and not in the Morissette way.

      /s

i would have thought the quotes would indicate the intent of the tone of the actual headline-- guess not

If it is indeed sarcasm or anything like that, I suggest use “/s” which stands for sarcasm. People will understand the tone that way.

Sometimes its hard to figure out whether someone means their comment as sarcasm, seriously and such.

Agreed. No matter how obviously sarcastic it is to you, it’s important to remember the internet is public, which means there are those who would post that in earnest.

At risk of misreading, I think they might be parodying the usual IDF line. The ‘runs into shrapnel’ bit is a little over the top.
