There is no misunderstanding. Slovakia being lower income member state does not change anything, the xar induszry has a big stake in the Slovak economy. Standard of living has also considerably improved since joining the EU, to no small degree thanks to the car industry, that employs a lot of people. Slovakia isn’t the only country without a big car company HQ. Austria also has a lot of jobs in the car industry, especially in supplier companies.
Before calling others ridicule you should still resolve your conundrum that Germany is supposedly all powerful in the EU, yet its largest net payer.
