Also, you mentioned a report of Ukrainians wanting the war to end. Obviously they do. Who wouldn’t. That’s not the same as surrendering though. Russia could stop aggressing. Alternatively to your presentation, 71% of Ukrainians say they’re happy right now. It’s about the same as before the invasion started currently. That’s certainly not what a group who wants to surrender would say.
It does not mean surrender. It means, rather than fight to the Kremlin, they want to negotiate a halting of Russian aggression when they agree to leave their territory. It could mean some concessions are fine, but this doesn’t go into any detail. It’s next to useless to draw any meaningful conclusions.

It sucks that people are dying, but that’s sometimes necessary for the better outcome. If Russia succeeds, people are going to be murdered too. They have literally committed genocides after successful invasions in the recent past.

At the end of the day, they’re the ones who decide the outcome. They have refused any reasonable peace negotiations, which is what the “we want to stop fighting” people are asking for. Hopefully the people of Russia still have it in them to do the same again.
