“Should Alberta remain a province of Canada or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?”
Ok Lemmy, which way is the right answer to stay in Canada?
Let’s see, Alberta exists because of Treaties 6, 7, and 8, which are with the crown and pre-date the creation of Alberta as a Provence. In order to separate, those Treaties would need to be re negotiated.
But perhaps, the separatists are really big on post-colonialism, and they really want Alberta to return to Indigenous title. That might be cool.
Oops, I forgot about Treaty 4 and 10.

“Alberta should remain a province”
Move to Ontario.
Is this the yes/no question being asked?
I sure hope not, but I feel it will be.
