Windows 11 looks and runs even better when replaced by Linux.
Agreed. I ran all the debloat scripts I could on Windows 11. Still felt scummy using it, so I switched fulltime to Fedora Linux and I feel a lot better using my computer.
I was just thinking this exact same thing.
Literally every computing device runs better without transparency or animations. I disable them on everything.
Apple Glarse doesn’t even let you completely disable it and it sucks.
Does there really need to be an article about this? I mean it should be a no brainer. Not that it changes much, it’s still Windows 11 at the end of the day.
It’s just an ad for Windows 11.
I did the same with both 10 and 7. Turned off aero transparency etc all of it I could find so windows would allocate enough resources for what I needed
I mean it should be a no brainer
Key word being should. I haven’t looked into these options yet, but there’s a reason Microslot has a reputation for hiding setting
Especially settings that make you computer faster
First things I disabled when my company put that mandatory W11 installation on my desk. Being fair to our IT, they already went out of their way to disenshittify Windows. Their background debloat scripts and configs must be gigantic.
I like the animations personally, but I’ve never really found a good use for virtual desktops beyond troubleshooting when something is stuck in fullscreen.
