It was the common mentality back in the day. Everybody helped for free but spoonfeeding was a no-go. Many people would find a way to help without actually giving the solution. Keep in mind information was much harder to find so a lot of answers were also links to places where you could find the answer. Most of it boiled down to RTFM.

I remember doing this kind of stuff back in the day against spoonfeeding. People on forums asked for help, so you provided code and snippets but it would never compile. The issues could easily be fixed by somebody with basic understanding.

However in this case they would fight it because of the fucking gun. If my dog would damage your computer by running against it you’ll get paid though. It’s a cool insurance, I can throw peoples phones on the ground and jump head first into their TV if I want.

I believe that in my country shared walls need to be at least REI60 rated (DIN EN 13501-2). REI60 means the load bearing, integrity and thermal resistance hold up for at least 60 minutes during a fire. This almost always means brick walls. I think even if your house is within x amount of meters from another house it also needs to be REI60.

I’m on the side of the maintainer. Always have been, always will. You want to be politically correct? Go into politics. Or at least wait until they start translating and branding. There’s no need to go and change something that meaningless. It shows you actively went and searched for it, instead of actually helping out the project or staying out of their way.
