Who gets to vote on what’s a protected class?

I use an adblocker, but would like to financially support the creators that create the content I consume. Blank CDs back in the day supposedly had a surcharge built in to cover piracy and I like the idea of something like that. Not sure how it would work, maybe some sort of “toll” system where instead of an ad I pay the amount the advertisers did to not see it.
There’s no way that advertisers are paying as much as it would cost me to subscribe to everything, so why can’t I pay that amount to serve myself “blank” (nonexistent) ads? Or just an extra surcharge that goes to creators and I’ll just keep using the adblocker guilt free.

Can we also add a surcharge so I never have to see an ad again?

He’s so dumb he thinks it works both ways. Just because Israel tells you what to do doesn’t mean they’ll let you tell them what to do.

Miles Morales is an interesting example of the trope though, as the other spider-heroes don’t have the electrical powers while he does.
On Spider-Man, Electro isn’t black in the comics but was in Amazing Spider-Man which is also maybe a hint of the trope.

Knee-chee

I’m fine with descriptivism on theory, but it sure seems wrong in the cases where the word changes meaning due to people misunderstanding/misusing the word. That’s not a a word gaining a new meaning, it’s losing meaning.
The other one I need a replacement for is “begs the question” since so many people have misused that one too.

The number of times I’ve been in a hardware store and approached by another costumer thinking I was staff because I was wearing hi viz is staggering.

I’m an ex spurt, just ask my parents

Your cereal bags are recyclable? They aren’t also in cardboard boxes?

It is consoles

Again, talking about safety, not fires. Not only does number of fires not necessarily mean more dangerous: the fires could be on average smaller and/or easier to escape from, or maybe they tend to happen while unoccupied (block heater fires for example) etc. but also EVs could be more dangerous in other ways (they are heavier so maybe harder to avoid certain types of incidents?) so it’d be a wash even though they’re less likely to burn.
Additionally, rates are a better way of looking at these things I agree, but ignoring sample size and use case can miss part off the story. That might not be free case here, it’s just worth keeping in mind.

Of course, but we’re talking safety here. The claim is that ICE vehicles are less safe than EVs. I’m wondering how that is since all of the safety features will be essentially the same.
If you’re saying one has a higher risk of fire injury I’d love to see the stats on that as fires for either type are pretty rare.

Wait, how? Aren’t they essentially the same except heavier?

Yes, we know

In Canada you can recall elected officials (although difficult to actually pull off), so it’s crazy to me that in the US there’s no mechanism to do so?

Stop being so antisemitic!!!
Well, he doesn’t eat his cereal
Sorry, I was talking about them
