No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it weird that I cringe whenever someone calls my name and I avoid using peoples names when talking to them?
9·3 months agoHah, for me exactly the opposite: I repeat peoples’ names when I talk to them so I remember them. At first it felt awkward, like OP described, but now I do it naturally without thinking.

Technology@lemmy.world•New sodium ion battery stores twice the energy and desalinates seawaterEnglish
142·6 months agoSodium ion batteries have less energy density as opposed to Lithium ion (100-150 WH per Kg instead of 150-250). I’m curious how much these “wet” batteries improve that. The article doesn’t say.
Nonetheless, even if it’s not the new battery for your car, it could be useful as energy storage for the grid, storing green (solar) energy for the night, and desalinating seawater at the same time.

20·6 months agoI mean the constant lying, petty and hateful behavior alone should be enough to get the guy impeached. Let alone the child raping and abuse of the office of president of the united states to enrich himself, his family and his inner circle.
The whole Republican party, and a substantial part of the democratic party consists of spineless, weak traitors. Their names will go down in history as such. Now let’s steer towards consequences so that future politicians know that their job is to represent and not to enrich. It should be an honor to serve the many citizens you represent, it should be punished if you knowingly fail.
