Oh this hits right in the feels. I always try to remind myself that this is his childhood and it will leave an impression for the rest of his life. Then i start worrying about not doing enough etc and anxiety ensues

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•I'm new to lemmy, came from reddit. What's the lemmy etiquette like? How different is it from reddiqutte?
13·9 days agoSimilar to Reddit. Everything here seems to be more tech oriented and most communities are much quieter than reddit.
Also be prepared to follow the same topic/community across multiple servers. Reddit is older so the default community for a given topic had been established. Not so much here

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Does anyone pays attention on this sectore on app store, before downloading an app?
10·2 months agoYes i do pay attention to it and normally wont download ones that have data collection on apps that have no need for that.
Apple requires that binaries are submitted to them prior to be ing placed on the app store. This where the app gets analyzed to see if it matches their policies etc…. Im sure there are flaws in this system but i generally trust it since its in apples favor to have this info be correct.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•thick skinned employees, how can you be so thick skinned?
371·3 months agoSounds like to me that maybe its not about how thick their skins are but about not taking the job personally. If you view a job just performing a function for money and just focus solely on the job it would look the same. Ignore other peoples drama, personalities, work ethics etc. Just do the job and focus on that ignore the drama, the gossip, and focus on doing your job well.
I manage staff and my best employees would seem stoic but really they just had focus, good work ethics, and a kind of get in and get out mentality. No gossip, no hanging out with their coworkers. Work was work then go home.
Intolerance.
Thanks karl popper.
Do you mean the delay between when you need to re-enter the superuser password?
I found this via an LLM:
To change the delay before needing to re-enter your
sudopassword, follow these steps:-
Open the terminal and run:
sudo visudo -
Locate the line:
Defaults env_reset -
Add the following line below it:
Defaults timestamp_timeout=<time-in-minutes>Replace
<time-in-minutes>with the desired timeout in minutes (e.g.,30for 30 minutes). Setting it to0requires a password every time, while a negative value disables the timeout entirely.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Are there any common household items or products that you think are designed incredibly poorly?
6·10 months agoIf this is true what a dumb reason. Basically decided to make a device that could be used 100% of the time unusable for some fraction of time just because it looks the way he wanted it too.

3·10 months agoCame here to say can opener too. Not for the same reason as you mentioned just that more often than not a can opener is just plain shoddy. Slips, doesn’t fully cut, hard to grip, etc….

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the weirdest thing you have ever seen on someone's phone or computer?
11·11 months agoI also worked as a computer tech at a university. Often i had to backup someones drive to cds or dvd depending on the situation. If a folder was too large we would ask permission to go into it to break it into smaller chunks. I began to loathe having to subdivide large photo folders onto cds. Way too many times of opening a folder of smutty pictures.

Unlimited domains and rock solid. Just don’t expect lots of hand holding the company focuses on making email work you have to sort out your own details. That being said they have good documentation.

Well thats about 70% of the population of South Korea
