Avatar modified (badly) by me, taken from Margarita Witch Cult’s first album cover, please listen to their stuff and support their band!

Drugs are like meditation but better.
Be the change you want to see. Post more often etc. Content isn’t farmed the way it was on Reddit. There are no ads and no corporation pushing content. Sad truth is there aren’t many people on Lemmy, and it is going to take a while to gain any major growth in userbase, if at all. All we can do is be resilient and try to create meaningful content, and hope people gradually start joining, to the point where niche communities start being filled.
Not always somewhere at my destination where I can safely lock my bike to prevent it being stolen.
Ayo join the club buddy! !thrashmetal@lemmy.world. Nice to find a metalhead out in the wild. (Sorry for the shameless plug ;) ).
Damn my thoughts exactly. Those were the age ranges I immediately thought of.
I’d say anyone under 30 is “young”.
I guess that makes you the racist.
Thanks for your insight 🙂.
Yup, that makes sense. You’re right. Thanks.
Right-on spankmonkey! Great way of explaining it. I’m gonna be a dick, though, and take things a step further. I don’t see the need for asexual either. Surely that means you have a low sex drive, and prefer to judge people based on personality. What do you think?
The way I see it, does it really matter what the correct term is? I don’t see why terms are necessary. People have there preferences/place on the spectrum, like you mentioned. No offense intended to anyone here, but I think the term “pan” is sorta pointless. At the end of the day it sounds like you are bi, and your preference leans towards dudes/away from women.
Feel free to educate me if I’ve got this wrong.
Yeah, I can totally see how that could be an issue. You’re right, my bad. Just wondering if there is any way to truly beat censorship if this is the case?
But the point is, you have freedom to choose whatever instance and thus whatever level of moderation you want. I’m not saying censorship is impossible here, that’s just not the argument. The thing is, you aren’t locked in to the control of a specific group/owner/company. If you don’t like the way things are being run, skip to somewhere else, or alternatively make your own instance.
For people who value freedom the most, you can choose a platform with less moderation, and thereby accepting the risks that come with it. For people who value a more safe, stable and curated platform, choose one with more/stricter moderation.
Yes. The fediverse is a pretty difficult thing to be controlled by a single group: that’s sorta the idea. I see it as almost a refuge from all the bullshit. The lack of ads, tracking, content farming, censorship and control etc is refreshing. Here’s to hoping the fediverse continues to spread.
Safety, easier to switch things off without unplugging them. Why not have one if it’s more convenient? Not all of them have switches though.
I’m guessing their justification would be that both are a means to escape reality.
I guess there is such thing as stupid questions.
